Good riddance, 2010. You, much like most of 2009, fucking sucked. I'm ready for a good year, okay? I should be graduating this summer, and the events that follow will have a large impact on whether 2011 is awesome or not.

Yay for #2! For any knitting stuff, there are so many great site and videos online (seriously, don't waste your money on Learn to Knit type books, they aren't helpful at all). I suggest Knitting Help.

If you want to learn cross stitching and like snarky stuff, I have to reccommend Subversive Cross Stitch. Reading Julie Jackson's book was an amazing help, and I know the patterns she sends with the kits have great instructions as well.

If you're looking at embroidery, I really like the instructions on Sublime Stitching, but am a big fan of the patterns available on Urban Threads (the SS patterns are a bit too typical for me and I've definitely seen enough pin up embroidery patterns, lol).

All those links are super helpful, thank you so much! Subversive Cross Stitch was actually what got me interested in the first place, and your NSFW masterpieces further fueled my curiosity. You use a computer program to plug in images and turn them into patterns, right? Could you direct me to that as well?

I know there are a couple of programs for image to pattern transition, but one I've heard of a lot through cross stitch lj comms is KG Chart. I personally use Pattern Maker for Cross stitch and I know a lot of stitchers that use PC Stitch. Both are programs you need to pay or pirate, but you can always download a demo and see which you like.
