Nino Fanart

I didn't have much to do today so I decided to draw a picture of Nino. It was my first attempt at trying to draw him and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the shading around his nose right. I realized that the more I tried to tweak it, the worse it got so I ended up calling it a day. The picture is a bit light because I took it with my ( Read more... )

Wow, looks really good! I love how well you captured his expression, he looks very gentle and sweet ^^

One of the things that might have made the shading challenging is that it's done very softly next to what are otherwise pretty crisp-looking contour lines...blending those lines into deeper shadows might help it look more natural, especially on tricky features like the nose.

But overall, it's very nice -- I actually think the rainbow tinge is kind of pretty, myself :>

Thank you so much for the advice. I'll try doing that next time. I had actually purposely made the contour lines darker after finishing the drawing because I thought that there was nothing that popped out in it. Only after retracing all my lines did I realize that it messed up my shading even more. LoL. Anyways, thank you for viewing and commenting. I'm glad that you liked it.

Amazing Job!! He looks very Ninoish.

I agree with Zonblushi that blending the shading into the crisp lines to soften them more will really help you out with the tricky parts. I think Nino's nose looks very cute. I want to see more soon!

Awww, thank you. I'll definitely try not to darken the outline next time. Instead, blending it into the darker shadings and shadows sounds like a good idea. Thank you so much for viewing and commenting! I'll try to draw another one sometime in the near future.
