Grizzly and the Bear Patrol 32

May 06, 2022 23:26

This issue was a long-time coming. My last Bear Patrol issue was back in June 2021. I did take a break to do the Halloween "Grisly" comic, but I was eager to get back to the characters I love to create. There were a lot of setbacks in trying to get this issue done, including abandoning the previous story and several already penciled pages to ( Read more... )

At first I thought Madame Banana was a stalk of corn ... and she would be blasting kernels of truth. LOL.

Your drawing skills are so wonderful. Thanks for another fun issue of Bear Patrol!

LOL... It could have gone either way. "Queen Corn" could easily have done the same, firing force blasts from her husked cobs. And I could have added some green to that costume. Maybe I'll make a whole female fruit/vegetable team and call them the Criminal Cornucopia!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Damn you don't like bananas do you? ;-) Or was that a Mario Kart reference?

That last panel with his eyes open is perfect. The first page and the last page are almost reversed, which I loved. And seeing that tantalizing hint of Grizzly's furry bum. ;-)

Over on Tiktok, people often refer to porn as corn... Queer corn even.

I'm very interesting in finding out the origin of The Reaper. Don't fear the Reaper. (More cowbell.) Maybe a Blue Oyster Cult reference?

Great job as usual. I enjoyed reading and poring over this- reminds me of my Graphic Novel class in college- without the deep analysis.

LOL... I don't mind bananas. It really was something I drew as a gag one time.

Grizzly's furry bum is a beautiful thing in my mind.

I was not aware of the adult "corn" reference. I'm old, but it's funny.

Being a fan of horror movies, I know that "Don't Fear the Reaper" has appeared in a couple of movies (Halloween and X) so I liked the idea of using it. Originally, I was going to call him the "Dream Designer" or "Dark Designer" and it just didn't sound menacing, so I switched it.

And thanks! These things are not deep here (well, not usually).
