Richard White, aka Gaston's Voice Actor

In March earlier this year, I met Richard White at Sac Comic-Con! He's an actor and opera singer whose main claim to fame is voicing Gaston in the animated Beauty and the Beast. BATB is one of my favorite Disney movies, and Gaston is one of my favorite Disney villains, so of course I dug out my blue dress Belle cosplay to meet him.

Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed reading it. I personally feel Disney released some of their best animations during that period and nothing modern can compare. There's just so much work animators devoted to listening to the voice actors and tailoring their animations to their voices. Nowadays, it just seems to be a lot of celebrities and soulless computer-generated animation.

Thanks for reading! Yeah, there's definitely a reason that period is known as Disney's Renaissance era - so many iconic films with epic soundtracks that featured actual singers. Although I have to admit Aladdin was probably the catalyst for them casting celebrities since Robin Williams was such a hit.
