My car is getting a facelift right now. Isn't that what LA calls a new windshield now? New lights could be a boob job.

Either way, it's through Safelite -- it was easy to set an appt, they come to home or office (I picked home) and seem to be a reasonable price ($225ish with all labor, parts, new windshield wipers, etc). So hopefully it will be an ( Read more... )

they were awesome! Came in the window of 4 hours that they set, were done in the hr they estimated, were polite and helpful and made sure the bill made sense before starting. So yes, good experience. I took the guy a lemonade as he was about done because it was WARM out there.

wow, 225 or a new windshield is good (imho). I think the last one I replaced was about $600 for the glass alone. I opted to not replace the S2000's that developed a crack from top to bottom, they wanted 500ish iirc. crashed the car instead :/

yikes! That is a lot. Probably does help to have a pretty common, not so expensive car. And I think I'll take it over the wrecks you have (and of course will have no more of as a favor to me)!!

"New lights could be a boob job"

So, is that a secret longing?

And just how did you manage to smash the windshield? What about the car insurance?

It got a crack in it -- rock on the freeway, and over 100 degrees that day made it spread within the same day :( I tend to get the small things like that just repaired, but the crack was over a foot within a day.

meh I think cheaper in the long run to just get it done. And probably less hassle.
