LiveJournal, it has been too long! We should do this more often. Catch up and whatnot. There are a couple of new things being pumped out of Chez Kyla Studios lately, so click through to see what's what!
Ughhhhhhh, I want to swim in a pool filled with everything in this post! I love love love your blocky colors, they feel so solid and nostalgic. Your work blows me away!
Hi :D I spotted your website while I was going through the list of exhibitors and loved your art at first sight! I stopped by your booth on Saturday while you weren't there and picked up a copy of Riddle, which I thought was fantastic. I adore your illustration style; I know so much work must go into all of your projects, but it's a testament to your skill that it looks and feels so natural and effortless. I love the design of the protagonist and how the art reminds me of a medieval tapestry. And the writing and storytelling are excellent, not easy considering it's such a short piece!
I'm not buttering you up for anything, really Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work and to thank you for sharing it!
Aw thank you so much, that means so much to me! I wasn't sure how much or little story I could squeeze into the pages, so I'm glad if I got it right, I'm not used to writing or pacing stories. I'm sorry I wasn't there, I was only gone for a couple hours the whole weekend - bad timing!
That kind of scares me to think what kind of awesome you could do once you get more used to writing and pacing. xD
Bad timing on my part! I got to tcaf a little after lunch so I probably hit the time when people most need to eat, attend panels or get off their butt. Hope you enjoyed the event and had a great time!
I know, I wish I had gone and chatted you guys up a bit! I was too shy, ahaha... I thought you wouldn't know who I was >.> NEXT TIME, DUDE. I did give Jess one of my booklets though!
