I need an extremely cheap (free - $10) CRT monitor asap.  I've got linux running on a computer I built but the gui doesn't like the monitor I'm using (I think the monitor might be broken).  All I need is something to use for about a month (until the next public WSU Surplus sale (11/18) at which I'll be buying a cheap monitor).  This computer would

If I do have an extra monitor I'm afraid it might have a messed up screen (I think it's purple) if we didn't already throw that one out. If you're interested in a purple moniter to borrow, I'll ask my parents if we still have it and then my dad can bring it up for dad's weekend. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer. Forgot to post that I got my monitor working (it just hates me with all the passion an inert computer monitor can completely loathe a person with). Turns out I had to install a different graphics card (or at least use a generic graphics driver). I still think I may invest in a better monitor if I actually make a workstation out of this thing (a few other 'better' parts might be nice too). For now I've got it working though.

Now if I can just get my ethernet driver compiled on that computer I might actually be able to get some use out of it.

I'm glad you found that you have a moniter. Espeically since I don't know why I'd have kept a broken moniter. I hope you can manage to get things set up and WORKING the way they need to be.
