A crescent moon hangs
in the August sky,
dusky and warm
like arms reaching
out to hold me
suspended like
a basket swing
on a tropical isle.
I feel my legs
dangling from the swing,
free, free, free
like a child
on a beach
so many summers ago.

The headaches are back. Every single day. What is this from? I don't want to live on ibuprofen or Tylenol. Ugh.

In the late night
small hours of this morning
I am awake
watching the sky
in the window
over our heads.
The brightness of the moon
juxtaposed with your face
calm in sleep
shows me everything
is all right.

I wrote that somewhere in Vermont as I cruised home tonight. I didn't see the moon over my left shoulder until I was near Hatfield.

Dark sky
clouds like ocean's waves
rippling above me
The moon an orb
big, yellow, round
tossed in the sky
like a beach ball
forgotten after a day
of playing within the waves
I go home alone

Sometimes you just need to go down a road that you have passed a thousand times and were too busy to turn until one day you say, "hey, I wonder where this street goes?"
