i left the house today

Went to central park today. I successfully completed a two part plan:

A) Leave the house. Jade Empire is awesome and I played entirely too much of it this weekend while the ladies of the house were gone.

B) Go to central park and use this camera of mine. I haven't spent much time in central park or using my camera yet, and today was beautiful.

Good stuff. I've been talking about getting serious about photography for a long time now. I should do it, too.

I think composition is one of the most interesting aspects of photography, personally, and I definitely agree with the whole "avoid centering" thing.

I was looking at this shot for a little bit. I think I would have gotten in a little tighter and put the doggie in the far right of the frame with the leash extending behind him across to the left (assuming there was enough leash to cross the entire frame). I think that would have suggested a nice motion to the photo. Cropping off the top and the bottom for a nice whitescreen effect would look cool, too.

Yeah i agree. Part of the problem was that I was sort of just walking around shooting, and didn't have much time to compose the shots. The park was sooo full of people that half the time i was just sort of blasting off a few shots as I walked. I think the only reason I took a picture of that beagle was because he was like abnormally large and had insane dog balls.

ok now i just have to buy Jade Empire. i've read a bit about it and several places have rated it higher than Halo2 (IGN comes to mind there). gamespot panned it though for the fighting being too simplistic.

The fighting is a little simplistic, but that's what I like, i don't want the controls to be too complex, I am far too uncoordinated for that. The plot is a little weird, but if you like bioware games you'll dig it.
