So, I am starting my new job today. Friday was my final day at SelectMinds after two and a half pretty great years.

Since I've been telecommuting for almost six years, I can share some of my observations and experiences. Like any personal observations, yours may vary, but I'll preface it with this. Ever since I was little, despite being somewhat of an introvert, I *need* to be around people or I start to lose it. My mom told me a story once about how I was home from day care for the summer, and two weeks in, I walked up to her and said, "Mom! I *need* to see some people!" I was 3. Yeah, I think the key to my sanity will be picking up a more healthy routine and sticking to it. Running, eating better, and working with Luke and crew on thursday is a good start.

I'm sure some of it will only get worked out over time.

Oh yeah, seperate space is vital. You *need* to be able to leave your "office" and not think about work.

wow. i think everyone has covered all the bases already. it's just really important to set a schedule so that you actually take a reasonable amount of time away, otherwise you'll be on a fast-track to burnout, which could ruin an otherwise great job.

i won't really repeat anymore of the things others have said. good luck! it sounds really cool.
