Not to join the memorializing hysteria today, but I do think that this is an important American pilgrimage -- not an organized one, but one fueld by an inner curiosity and a patriotism in the best sense of the word. In the past five years I, like many Americans, have drifted through all of those places that changed all of our lives so much. And I only got arrested once. Here are some photos and stories.
