Baby Chickens or Kamenashi Kazuya?

T-TUN were already in the group dressing room preparing for the day’s work when a depressed Kamenashi Kazuya barged in, obviously in a bad mood as he let the door close with a loud bang. Ignoring the startled looks he received, Kame gracefully strode towards the couch occupied by Nakamaru, who immediately made space for him, knowing better not to mess with a depressed Kazuya.

This had been happening ever since Akanishi left for his shooting of 47 Ronin. He did not even call Kame to check up on him, Nakamaru thought, exchanging worried looks with Koki, who was sitting beside Ueda.

As Kame sat down, he sighed heavily before curling himself on the couch to get some rest before the start of their dance rehearsals. Unfortunately, KY Taguchi had other things in mind.

“Kame~!” Junno spoke excitedly, placing his PSP on his lap and turned to Kame. “Have you read Akanishi’s tweets? It seems like he’s getting along well with Lizzy-san and Aubree-san,” he added, totally oblivious to what he had done.

Upon hearing the names of Jin’s female backup dancers, Kame flinches and curls himself more into the couch as if seeking for warmth. Seeing this, Ueda, Maru and Koki glared at Junno who immediately shut up and resumed playing with his PSP. Maru this time decided to take matters into his hands and approached the depressed turtle.

“Ano, Kame, are you free tonight? There’s this new restaurant in Shibuya that Koyama-kun told me about. Wanna try it? Koki and the others are coming too, right?” Maru glanced in his bandmates’ direction. Both Koki and Ueda vigorously nodded back.

“Let’s go Kame-chan! It’s been a while since we all ate together!” Koki piped up, placing a hand on Kame’s shoulder.

“I’ll pass this time. Go and have fun ne~” Kame finally spoke and stood up just in time for their manager to open the door and announce that their dance choreographer has just arrived and was waiting for them at the studio. Kame was the first one to depart, leaving T-TUN more puzzled than ever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rehearsals went smoothly, and when T-TUN was getting ready to leave, Kame approached his band mates.
“Guys, I’m sorry about a while ago,” he said, fiddling with the buttons of his denim jacket. “Uhmm, I’m just tired right now so...” Hell yeah, tired of thinking and missing that baka who never even called me up, Kame sadly thought and bit his lower lip.
“It’s alright, Kame. Don’t worry about it. Better go and rest then.”
Maru smiled softly, turning to the other members who smiled as well. Seeing this, Kame forced a smile on his face and thanked his friends before walking towards the door.
“I’ll be fine and I’ll make it up to you, guys soon. Have fun tonight and don’t forget that we have a mag photoshoot tomorrow. Ja ne~”
Kame waved and left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The ride home was silent and before he knew it, he arrived at Akanishi’s apartment. The place was unused ever since Jin left. Gathering his stuff, he proceeded to enter the haven and went straight to the bedroom. Jin’s masculine scent was still lingering in the air, which made Kame miss him more. Dropping his things and not feeling hungry, he stripped off his clothes and lay on the bed, snuggling close to the pillows as if it was Jin.

He was about to doze off when he remembered what Junno asked him a while ago. Out of curiosity, he rummaged through his bag in search of his laptop. Getting a hold of it, he logged into his brother’s twitter account, silently thanking his brother for sharing the password with him, and hurriedly looked for Jin’s account.

Reading through Jin’s tweets evoked different emotions and facial expressions from Kame. He frowned and felt annoyed when he saw his lover flirting with Lizzy and Aubree. He blushed when he read the love quotes Jin shared, knowing that it was him who Jin was pertaining to. Finally, his eyes widened when he read one particular tweet that said:

What the hell are you doing Jin? Kame thought. He was still in deep thought when his phone rang. Hopping off the bed, he was able to retrieve his phone from his jean’s pocket.

“Speaking of the devil,” Kame muttered when he saw the caller Id flashing on the screen. The idiot finally remembered me, he thought, suppressing a bitter chuckle that was about to escape his lips.

Taking a few deep breaths to calm his racing heart, he answered the call.
           “Jin! Finally! I missed you so - ” Kame started only to be cut off by Jin’s voice.

“Kazu~!” Jin spoke excitedly. “Can you imagine what I am eating right now?”

“What?” He asked, annoyed how Jin cut him off on what he was about to say.

“Kazu! I’m eating baby chickens!” the other exclaimed. Kame could actually imagine Jin holding onto his utensils and raising the chicken as if Kame were right in front of him. The thought made him sigh. Oh how much he missed hearing the other’s voi-

“Oh wait. They’re not supposed to be called baby chickens. Lizzy would get mad at me for this. She told me to say small sized chickens,” Jin chuckled.

“Hn,” Kame grunted in response. Hearing the girl’s name again made him flinch and ready to wipe the silly grin he knows Jin has on his face. “So when did you start taking orders from your crew, Jin?” Kame asked, a frown now etched on his face.

“Eh?” Jin asked.

“Nevermind.” Kame mumbled knowing Jin would not understand the situation he was in.

“Oh okay! You really should try them Kazu! Small sized chickens are the best!"

The cheerful tone the other was using made Kame bite his lower lip. He cannot make this call last or else he’ll break down. He missed the guy too much and all he needed was Jin telling him how much he missed him and how much he loves him. But it seems like Jin was too engrossed with those “baby chickens” to even think about him.

Realizing this, Kame’s frown deepened, now accompanied with a pout. He fucking needed attention, damn it!

“Maybe, I’ll bring some for you when I get back!”  Jin added.

Silence ensued and Kame gripped his phone tighter. Mixed emotions were crawling onto his veins and any minute now he would explode.

“Kazu? Are you there?” Jin asked worriedly, finally noticing how the other stopped speaking to him.

Kame sighed for the nth time. He cannot show any weakness now.

“Ka-”

“Akanishi. Did you call me just to share what you ate?” Kame finally spoke exasperatedly.

He was dead tired and the last thing he wanted was for Jin to call him up and tell him about his adventures and not actually expressing if he missed his lover.

“Well yeah, I thought you might be interested. Wait! What’s with the formalities, Ka-”

“I never knew you like them small.”

Kame tsk-ed before adding, “Look Akanishi, I am not interested on what you are eating, so go and just fuck your chickens.”

Kame hung up and angrily threw his phone onto the carpeted floor. That was the first time Jin called him and yet it was about chickens.

That night, he was haunted by Jin and his chickens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following days had been hell for everyone in the Jimusho. Not only was Kame being more workaholic than usual, he also emitted a dark aura around him and snapped at anyone who tried talking to him may it be his bandmates, his kouhais, and even a certain YamaPi.
“Mou~ What happened to my Shuuji-kun?” YamaPi sulked at KAT-TUN’s dressing room.
“Don’t tell me he barked at you as well?” Koki asked, placing himself beside the NewS leader who nodded with a pout adorning his face.
“I think this has gone way too far, don’t you think?  Ueda spoke, folding up the magazine he was reading.
“I agree with Ueda. Kame has been like this ever since Akanishi left,” Maru added.
“I even tried talking to him about it but he just ignored me and left,” Junno spoke sadly which gained him stares from his bandmates and Pi.
“Now that you mentioned it, maybe Bakanishi has something to do with this. Did he call Shuuji-kun to check up on him?” YamaPi asked looking at Koki who shook his head.
“As far as I know, he hasn’t called Kame and we know how stubborn Kame is that’s why he won’t call or text Akanishi either.” Maru sighed.
“BINGO! I know what to do now.”
YamaPi grinned and motioned everyone to come closer.
“And that is to call that Bakanishi and tell him what’s going on,” he calmly whispered before showing his phone.
           “But don’t you think we might make things more complicated? If Kame finds out about this, he’ll definitely kill us!” Maru panicked.
“Ne, don’t you want the old Kame back?” YamaPi asked while his thumb was positioned over the call button.
“I do, but - ” Maru reasoned out only to be cut off by the loud ringing coming from YamaPi’s phone which he set to loudspeaker mode.
“Oi YamaPi! Do you know what time it is here?” a rough and sleepy voice spoke on the line.
“I don’t care Bakanishi! What have you been doing lately huh?” YamaPi shouted over the phone.
“Well I’ve been working my ass off in shooting a HOLLYWOOD movie. Why?”
Hearing Jin’s response gave Ueda the urge to wipe out the devilish smirk he knew was painted at the other’s face.
“Is that so? Have you talked to Kame?” YamaPi replied.
“Well yeah I did. I called him up one night since I wanted to share about the awesome small sized chickens I was eating.”
“That’s all?” YamaPi and T-TUN gaped.
“Yes. Why are you asking?” Jin sounded annoyed and curious at the same time. YamaPi and T-TUN exchanged worried looks.
“Don’t you miss Kame?” YamaPi continued, not answering Jin’s question at all.
“What kind of question is that?! Of course I do!” Jin shouted over the phone.
“Have you told him that when you called?” YamaPi asked.
“Hah?!” Jin gasped.
“I said, have you told Kame that you missed him?” Pi repeated.
Silence occurred for a moment which made T-TUN realize the cause of Kame’s behaviour.
“I’m in deep shit... Am I right?” Akanishi spoke cautiously.
“Finally! You realized something’s wrong. Now go and fix this immediately before we all die here of Kame’s mood swings,” YamaPi said before hanging up and grinning at T-TUN who just sighed in relief.
On the other side of the world, Akanishi Jin was getting ready to leave the hotel when his manager stopped him.
“Where the hell are you going Akanishi? I know it’s your day off until tomorrow but you’ve got to rehearse your lines.”  Yamazaki furiously shouted, gaining a few stares from the other occupants of the hotel.
“I’ll be right back before you know it! Ja~” Jin saluted his manager, completely ignoring how the other was about to pull him back, and rushed out of the place to hail a cab.
Reaching the airport, he waited impatiently at the departure area. Tapping his foot once in a while mumbling, “I’m sorry Kazu! I missed you so much,” over and over again like a mantra.
As the announcement was made at the speakers, Jin walked fast towards the gates, immediately sat on his seat, and thought of what he should tell his lover.
Hours passed and finally the plane he was on landed at Narita Airport. Fixing his sunglasses and placing his hoodie up, he made his way out of the plane and to the luggage carousel so as not to attract any unwanted attention. Spotting his luggage, he made his way out of the airport as calmly as possible.
I’m almost there. Just wait for me Kazu! He thought as he told the cab driver his destination.
I should have noticed that something was wrong when I called Kazu up. I should have asked what’s wrong and told him how much I missed him instead of... ARGH! Baka Jin!
Jin sighed, gripping his phone tighter in his hands. He had the urge to call Kame, but the younger man might just hang up on him. Before he knew it, the cab stopped right in front of the place he knew so well, Kame’s apartment.
Paying the driver, he got out of the cab and walked to the porch. Finding the spare key Kame gave him in his pocket, he unlocked the door.
“Kazu? Are you in here?” Jin’s voice echoed. Noticing how no one was answering, he checked all the rooms, only to find out Kame wasn’t home.
Where could he be? It’s already late and his work should be over, he thought, panic and fear rushing through his body. He paced back and forth in the living room when a thought flashed in his mind.
“Don’t tell me he’s in...” his voice trailed off as he immediately left the apartment, knowing where to find Kame.
Just as he thought, Kame’s car was parked right outside Jin’s apartment. Hope filled his eyes and he strode towards the door and knocked. As the door opened, Kame’s eyes reflected surprise and a small amount of anger and hurt upon seeing Jin by the doorway.
“What are you doing here? Aren’t you busy with work?” Kame numbly spoke, ready to close the door onto Jin’s face.
“Are you sending me back even if I just arrived?” Jin replied, his tone with a hint of sadness.
“Go away Akanishi. Go back to your beloved chickens.”
Kame stared at him.
“I’m not leaving. In case you forgot, this is my apartment, dear Kazu~” Jin sing-songed and pushed the door open.
Kame was left dumbfounded for a minute before he proceeded to gather his things and made his way out of the house. As he was about to reach out for the knob, two muscular arms circled his waist.
“Let go of me. I’m leaving” Kame struggled and tried to argue but Jin only held him tighter and closer to his chest.
“I missed you so fucking much, Kazuya...” Jin’s husky voice whispered at Kame’s ear.
Kame stilled and his heartbeat went wild. The way Jin held him, his warmth, his voice and scent invaded Kame’s senses. Oh how much he missed those things. Just goes to show how much effect Jin had on him.
Those same arms turned him around. This time, Kame did not struggle and faced the older one, his head hanging low. Tears threatened to fall and Kame did not want Jin to see this.
Jin noticed, though, and with his right hand, he tilted Kame’s face until their eyes met.
“Kazuya, I’m really sorry about what I did. I know I should have called you up once I arrived. I’m sorry about the chickens as well and for whatever I said during the conversation,” Jin spoke softly. “I’m sorry if I was not able to tell you immediately how much I missed you. How I missed your warmth, your scent, your smile, your kisses and hugs. Everything about you, Kazuya.”
Jin smiled, stroking Kame’s hair before leaning to kiss his forehead.
Seeing how Jin was sincere made Kame sigh in happiness and cupped Jin’s face in his hands.
“Does that mean you love me more than those stupid baby chickens?” he pouted.
“I love you the most Kazu. And don’t you ever forget about that.” Jin replied before leaning in to taste those pouty lips that belonged to the person he cherished the most, more than those baby chickens.
End~ ^.^
