I hate people who think it's a terrible pity that everybody doesn't get out of America and see the "rest of the world." Nine times out of ten they mean western Europe, and eight times out of ten they aren't the ones who have to pay their bills ( Read more... )

I tried to read Satanic Verses, cause I really liked one of his other books...but I couldn't get into it. Its so long, and there is so much physics to do...

So sad.

I know what you mean about grades. I have felt that way often myself.

His newest one - Fury. I like, loved it (wow, I sound really ditzy!). He's one hip guy! I still think I would like to read Satanic Verses, but I just can't do it right now, ya know?

Know what you mean about Vonnegut. His characters aren't particularly captivating, but the writing itself definitely is. Really wanted to finish "Slaughterhouse Five" but didn't in time for my flight to Australia. How'd you like it? Let's see if I can get through the skinnywinny "Galapagos" which has waited in my bedside table all summer.

I liked it. It was fucked up, but that's to be expected. What's "Galapagos" about?
