I MADE A CONCERT LIST BEFORE BUT I FORGET A LOT OF THE SHOWS I'VE BEEN TO! LIKE NOW WHEN SOMEONE SAYS "BLAH BLAH BLAH I LOVE BAND X" I'M LIKE "UH I *THINK* I SAW THEM LIVE?!?!?!?" HOW DO I FORGET THESE THINGS?!?!?! IT'S KIND OF SCARY! :(
man, i forget pretty much everything in my life ever, and it's kind of lame! i read 1984 and like 2 months later forgot the whole thing...then later i remembered it all again! i honestly have the worst memory of all time!
1. baby c'mon and/or mama by stephen malkmus 2. a ton of songs from chocolate and cheese by ween 3. terrapin by mister syd barrett 4. blue orchid by white stripes HELLS YEAH YOU LIKE IT CAUSE IT'S GOOD THAT'S WHY 5. range life by pavement 6. bitches ain't shit by ben folds... the album was crap, but this is good. 7. das kleine krokodil by schnappi... nine year old german girls make brilliant music. 8. go it alone by beck... best song on the new album in my opinion. 9. circle sky by the monkees... SHUT UP head was a pretty awesome movie. 10. the gnome by pink floyd... cause, yeah, syd barrett.
oh, and concert list as much as i can remember right now:
1. goo goo dolls/sugar ray/fastball 2. weird al 3. TMBG 4. ghoti hook 5. green day/get up kids 6. radiohead/kid koala/beta band 7. tori amos/rufus wainwright 8. bob dylan 9. rufus wainwright/teddy thompson/martha wainwright 10. wesley willis 11. ozma 12. TMBG/some shitty opening band 13. the vines/the music 14. hot hot heat 15. salteens/sekiden 16. john prine 17. neil young 18. aislers set 19. dressy bessy 20. ladybug transistor/orwell 21. waxwings 22. franz ferdinand/sons & daughters/controller.controller 23. TMBG/common rotation 24. TMBG/trachtenburg family slideshow players 25. bob dylan/willie nelson 26. yo la tengo/damon & naomi 27. sondre lerche/golden republic 28. jonathan richman 29. darren hanlon 30. hot hot heat/louis xiv/the flesh
and then it's like way too many to fricking name for sxsw.
man, i love being a nerd!kylioooApril 21 2005, 16:26:20 UTC
of course! it's a neil young cover from the solo bridge school benefit show he did in 2002. he seems to really like neil young a lot! for the canal+ recording the band played cinnamon girl but it never made it to air.
i like being responsible for your jens obsession. well. jens helped a bit too.
i am jelous of the beach boys only if it included brian wilson. and of course of you seeing belle and sebastian. but then again i saw teh mozfather and you have to be jelous of me now!
the heck? i only started going to shows for 2 years now. but i blame that on living in the suburbs and having severe social anxiety.
i am making a spring-ish mix too, so far i have final fantasy, jens lekman (his non orch. version of do you remember the riots is a acapella with a girl, its very nice), the shins, feist, new broken social scene, the pixies, and im still working on it.
lillith fair! too bad its defunct. as much as a full day of that music would make me terribly sad, it would be a great place to meet women. i became gay after it was cool.
it didn't, and i was 4, and i fell asleep part of the way through, so there's not much to be jealous about. well, yeah, belle and sebastian were amazing! $O@QH)%RH@OIJ I DEFINIETLY AM!
me too, though! i mean, apart from the shows i went to with my mom, but those don't count. most of these are from november 2003 and on, the indie and alternative ones at least.
final fantasy is also a good thing to put on there. the orchestral version makes me think of spring because of the jaunty-sounding strings. i can imagine people frolicking in fields. or burning buildings and rioting. which is kind of why the song is so awesome. what broken social scene song? also, i haven't really liked anything i've heard from feist. i'm not really that impressed...
well, you would only be meeting women who like that sort of music, you know. i don't think i could date a woman who likes the indigo girls. it's just a matter of principles.
the feist song i was talking about is this older song called 'it's cool to love your family'. it has alot of fun violins in it.
actually speaking of that, my last girlfriend liked all that type of music. but at the same time i got her into the smiths and broken social scene and the weakerthans and the yeah yeah yeahs, etc. she once put on some indigo girls and i started crying. that music makes me way toooo emo.
crying because it was bad, or because it was so moving? i hope it was because it was bad. also, that girl was soooooooooooooo lucky to have known you, not just for the music, either. but the music does help. :)
