haha i felt exactly the same way before.

after A's I had such an ambitious plan to get scholarship, apply for some ivy league uni and live it up in the US.

but the years in NS, i just suddenly lost the enthusiasm, the excitement, the willpower. instead of continuing with my huge and amazing plans to get myself to NYU or Brown, the monotonous days in army just killed whatever motive i have, and replaced it with a totally mundane wish to just get past the two years.

because of how boring and lousy NS is, i now view uni in singapore as a wonderland in comparison, making me think that even going there will be an exciting change, and thus i lost all impetus to chiong for US uni.

if you can find within yourself the drive to get an overseas education, i wish you success. if not, then you are not alone =)
