Actually had a question for you... I just finished reading "The Rape of Nanking" by Iris Chang, and had all the subsequent emotions (sorrow, disbelief) that comes with hearing a story like that. I admit I'm totally ignorant of Chinese geography, so I'm not sure if you were ever in the Nanking area, but do you feel that the repercussions of those atrocities and the Japanese government's refusal to admit what happened are felt in Chinese culture today?
Wait, never mind. I think I just answered my own question, as I remember the recent slew of anti-Japanese riots and demonstrations. In any case, more insight that you could provide on my question would be appreciated.
Good luck with the finals and moving out!

Why the world does not complain about the Germans? That's because the Germans are SINCERE to their apologies. Their words and actions proved so.
Why not the Chinese and Koreans? Because the Japanese are not SINCERE! Their words are cheap, they don't act in a way to illustrate their sincerity. Sure, they may have given China a lot of interest free loans, they may have apologized a lot of times orally. But their actions proved otherwise, that mades us even more furious. They are not helping us with the loans, they are trying to buy our forgiveness. No matter how much they give us or to the Koreans, it's only going to make us hate them more.
It was the only legal, patriotic outlet for their frustration over a whole lot of issues. For this, I agree with you totally.
