I just saw The Godfather last night.
For the first time.
And it was awesome.

haha...pirated dvd i assume?
i love the whole series, you should watch the rest of it too. it's the only time when sequels/prequel are just as good as the original.

Downloaded off the internet, actually--I've never managed to find the DVD here. I've heard the sequels are good, but I don't see how they can live up to the original, since Marlon Brando's character dies in the first one. Don Corleone, what a badass...

Godfather Part II is pretty damn good because it outlines the history of Vito Corleone in America (his rise to power, etc). Robert de Niro plays Vito. Parallel with this story is the description of Michael's rise to power and how it corrupts and changes his character. It's another damn good movie. Just as good as the first, just different.

I highly recommend I and II. III is crap- don't waste your time.

Scarface is badass, but Casablanca is just... old. Of course it was good back in the day, but I just couldn't relate.
