On the night of the 14th, I took off for the little resort town of Sanya, on Hainan Island, at the southernmost tip of China. That beach in the first picture is incredible. Too bad you didn't have a panda there with you to bury in the sand.

Speaking of pandas, you're in China, right? I think you should write a song about a panda who lives in outer space. Space Panda. And then he looks down at Earth and he can see the Great Wall of China, which makes him homesick, so he decides to rocket himself back to his homeland but he gets burned up in the atmosphere. They should intentionally breed pandas to be flame retardant. Just an idea.

Wow, that's a totally sweet song idea! I'll get working on it. It'll be kinda like that other time I wrote a song about outer space, only with pandas this time. And acoustic guitar instead of electric, because that's all I have here. But I can record it and e-mail it to you when I'm finished!

Hey, my band played the outer space song that one time we played the vera project, remember? I was like, "This is a song I wrote about outer space, because outer space is totally sweet" or something, and then you totally flipped out!

kick ass pictures! It took me this bloody long to figure out that this journal was on my friend of list...and then another chunk of time to figure out what in the HELL is going on!

Glad to see you are having a good time! Kick ass on going to China! Now that I know who this is, I will keep up. (as much as I can now that I am on a ship.)

Actually we are on our way back to Hawaii now, sorta.

I joined the Coast Guard last August, and I am now an officer. Crazy stuff huh? Stationed in Honolulu on a high endurance cutter. Love my job! Really doing well in general.
