Well it is done. 1800 definitions in three months, and my third, and most ambitious dictionary for children is complete. The other two, written for Oxford and Scholastic, were team  efforts. For this one, I was flying solo for a publishing house in Lebanon who didn't even have an editor assigned to the job. At 365 pages, I think I've done some good ( Read more... )

A contract for the Mennonite Church would be great. At least they pay and they are generally honest people.

Love the fact that the job from hell is over. Sending them a small amount of money back is like hush money, but at least they are gone and your life can be happy once again.

One page of fiction is more than I did today. I treated myself to a day of reading - 2-1/2 books worth of reading. Happy, happy me (even though I still found myself editing the finished copy - Oy!).

*huggles* to you for a job well done and thanks for the color - our extreme cold temps and dirty snowbanks are starting to get me down.

If I get the job, I'll be one happy camper. Elance has been an adventure, but sometimes its nice not to have your livelihood be an adventure.
And good for you wallowing in some books. That is a healthy thing to do every now and again. I've got Mary Renault's first novel, Promise of Love, sitting at my elbow. I didn't even know it existed. I'm looking forward to that and to getting back into my how to books.
We need the color here too. We got several inches last night.

Oh, I wallowed. On the recommendation of Miz Mik I've been reading a lot of Andrew Grey. He's m/m, but with a really gentle touch. I think he's rather like potato chips - it's nearly impossible to read just one. I've read a few of his stand-alone books now, but also have read several of his series and I have to admit that I love them even though there isn't anything really deep. Sometimes something light is just the ticket :-)

I hope you don't get our arctic blast. It was -10 when I left home this morning and -5 when I returned home. Even after soup for dinner, I'm still cold. Ugh!
