Ah, Canada!

So, I am sitting in a quaint nook of a bed and breakfast, sipping tea and eating an amazingly delicious blueberry scone. Outside the snow is deep and the air is crisp. A new storm is coming this way, but few of my Canadian hosts seem to notice ( Read more... )

Canada? In winter? Oh you brave girl, you!

We'll figure out a time to talk when you get back. I want to hear all about this latest job and the death of the job from hell...

*hugs*

BTW - thoughts are swirling about a possible Minnesota get-together for the opening of the 3rd Hobbit movie in 2014. A trip to Valley Fair and the movie as well as other get-togethers. Would you be up for such a beast...thing...idea...event?

So much for foolishness being the domain of the young. The six hour drive up was not bad. The ten hour drive home through the storm was no fun, except for the delightful company of the two other women in the car. I still haven't really gotten a handle on the task. There are six pages plus illustration specs for each lesson, and I'm hunching it will take me three hours a day, five days a week. After tax pay? About $10 per hour. But there must be some merit to the job. All of the other women had been doing it for years. It is something I can do, and it will pay the bills.

Psrty? In Minnesota? I didn't know that Hobbit three would be out that fast. Coming to your house to play sounds like fun. I'm more of a Renaissance Fair than a Valley Fair person, but whatever. Let's keep talking!

Storms and driving are not the friendliest environment and I have no faith in others behind the wheel so I tend to do the driving. Will the job take less time after you've gotten used to the routine and the length? I think your time and expertise is worth way more than $10/hour. After all, minimum wage around the nation ranges from $7.25 to $9.19 an hour and you're worth more than minimum wage.

Yes, party! The Hobbit part three was scheduled to be released in July, 2014. Unfortunately, overnight the schedule changed and now it is scheduled for a holiday 2014 release. Bummer!

Thanks for the endorsement. Yeah, I am worth more than $10 per hour, but money in the bank is good, so I will do it.

Sigh, the Hobbit is already in the can! They must have some marketing strategy in mind. Thanks for the offer though. I would love to come out and visit with you someday. I'll have to practice hitchiking, since I can't leave our single car family without a car. . . Or maybe the train. I tried that once before about twenty years ago.
