Not insipid at all! I was trying not to smile while I imagined you wanting to kick the piano tuner out of the house to be left alone with your misery and your Vicodin. I know I should be feeling sorry for you, but you wrote the scene into something rather funny. :o)
Seriously, I hope you're feeling better soon and that your non-Goth niece likes the bright orange jacket.
Thanks for the tea and sympathy, Russa. I am forcing myself to get back into reality if only for a good meal. We've been all but snowed in these past few days, and I just couldn't bear another night of cold cereal for supper. I sobered up this afternoon and made it to a local Mexican eatery for dinner, then picked up my son from college before heading home. If I can stay off the Vicodin tomorrow, maybe we will go out and get our Christmas tree. Seasons greetings to you, BTW!
OMG, you poor thing! I can sympathize with Trying to Get Things Done™ whilst under the influence of a painkiller (that happened after I had a wisdom tooth extracted some years ago).
OOh, ribbon candy. I haven't had that in years. I remember snitching some from my Grandmother's candy dish and wishing afterwards that I had asked for some instead. I think it would have tasted better.
I'd like to cozy down and enjoy the drug induced high, but alas, my days on meds are numbered. Two of my three rascals are home for Christmas, so I'd better sober up.
So sorry to hear you've been in pain. Did the surgery at least fix the problem? I don't know why the sh*t always seems to hit the fan all at once, just know that it does. I smiled at your interaction with the piano tuner though. Not insipid at all. I like hearing about what's going on with you. Rest and enjoy the Vicodin.
Ah, yes, well, I think that this surgery should do it. I was talking to the women at the MRI place (another medical adventure that I'm on), and they were so amazed that I had this done with no packing and no black eyes. Oh, I didn't even know that was possible. The Dr. I had explained everything to me and it all sounded so easy. I finally got back to work today - and back on the road with errands.
Well, you said you had lots of RL stuff going on and indeed, it seems to be the case. I'm so sorry you're in pain, but you're also right - Vicodin is your friend in need. Please take good care of yourself for a while. We owe each other some quality chatting or writing back/forth time soon! *hugs* and a nice bowl of chicken soup (because as we all know, chicken soup can heal all ills).
Oh, yes, please. I am royally sick of cereal as a food staple. Actually, today I am feeling more like myself. If life would just slow down a bit, I think things would really be OK.
