Well that was a huge waste of everyone's time and money. Results are inconclusive. There is a "suspicious thinning" of one end of the MCL that "may or may not" be a tear. I have a huge fluid pocket in the joint, and tears/damage of the meniscus don't always show up on MRIs and they can't rule it out ( Read more... )

One day past the blizzard. At 9:30 we're sitting at -4 with a -22 windchill. The snow in our yard is 15 inches deep in the flats with close to 6 foot drifts around the haus, cars, and garage. Sounds like we're in for big snow midweek. Late this afternoon a little "whatever" storm is going to put down 2-3 inches, but the big stuff starts Tuesday. I can't work 'em. It's a whole lot safer to just favor my knee and gimp around the haus as best I can. The mere thought of coming down the stairs using crutches is enough to bring on an anxiety attack. I'd tumble ass over teacup, sure as shooting. Wouldn't be good.

Yesterday before the kids went to school we all, staff and patients, had some downtime. We were sitting around in the dayroom playing "Can you do this?", you know, agility tricks. Man, was he ever nervous. His blood pressure was 180/100 when we got into the exam room. It's never that high. I think he was sweating bullets.
