Might be worth having a word with Andrea, as she has just bought a sony vaio, and I think she is really happy with it.

Thats the kind of stuff I do :)

I've always used Mac's so I guess I'm biased, Mac OSX is a very stable OS though, I have no experience of Song VAIO ..sorry :(

Mac's and sony's are like marmite and marmalade. You like one but not the other! I'm a marmite girl myself. But I like both computers! Ummm my theory may not work, but then again I am slightly odd and I do like most things (until they piss me off and don't do what they are told that is)!!! :-)

You *cannot*, and I can't stress that enough, *cannot* get cheap software for MACs. That said, up until recently MACs were always used for image manips and music, so that would seem to be your best option. However, I did say, up until recently...

My new VAIO is really nice, looks fabulous, the screens amazing, performs well. It's a PC so you can get any software you want. Maybe you should pop round and you can see them both at the same time. Also, are you really going to travel with it? If not, it might be better to get even more for your money and buy a desktop, MAC or PC.

Without wanting to get into this too much...:P

You do get a lot of free Apps on the Mac...I think there called iLife or something

and when I looked the Apps I bought (Photoshop/Dreaweaver) were just as expensive on the PC as the Mac :)
