A/N: How, I haven't posted in a long time... ^^; Hey guys, I'm back!Sorry, it's been a while.All blame goes to Torchwood for having cannon yaoi... *_*

But anyway! I recently got an ipod, whom I named Hitsugaya Toshiro, that has nothing but my Jrock on it. ^^ And so after many bus rides to/from work and night falling asleep to the sound of Ruki's sexy voice, I felt the need to write something! Yay! XD It's about time my writer's block gets out of the way! And I want to keep it away, so if any of you guys have an idea from a story that I can write, let me know and I'll try it out!

Oki, on with the story!

~*~

Fuck, was the first thought that went through Ruki's mind as the sunlight pierced through a crack in his dark curtains. He was enjoying his late sleep-in, a small break he rarely got because of his schedule. He burrowed deeper into the warmth of his blankets, the chill of the morning air reminding him of the time of year. Last night had tired him to the point of passing out on the bed right when he got home, therefore leaving the heat off for the night.

He twitched as his phone rang and glanced blearily at the clock. Who would be calling at seven on his morning off? So much for being a lazy couch potato all day.

Yawning, he made a blind grab for his cell on the other side of the bed where his clothes lay, still keeping he rest of himself under the covers. He really wanted to through the phone out the window and go back to sleep without a care in the world, but rationality and curiosity were gnawing at his stomach. Besides that, he felt almost fully awake, so there was almost no chance of that. He would just have to make it up by going to bed early tonight. It sucked, though. He and guys were planning on going out in about 12 hours or so. He would also have to make it up to them for canceling.

Finally managing to free his phone from the confines of his jean pocket, he pressed it to his ear without looking at who it was. "Moshi moshi" he muttered groggily.

"Ruki-Kun! Where are you?"

"In bed," he replied after taking the phone away momentarily because of Kai's loud voice. "Where else?" He shoud have known it was Kai. It was like second nature for the guy to be awake this early.

"Ruki-kun, what about our meeting? Don't tell me you forgot, too..."

The vocalist was now thoroughly confused. "I haven't forgotten, but that's not until tonight. Why are you bringing it up now?"

The was a slight pause on the other end, and Ruki had a feeling he'd said something wrong. What was it? was someone injured? Were his band mates canceling on him instead? Whatever the case, the suspense was killing him as he waiting patiently for him to answer.

"Ruki." Reita. "Nan-ji desu ka?"

"Too early to talk to you. Can't you call me when it's later? At less insane hours?"

The was a brief silence followed by rustling and muttering before he heard Kai take the phone again. "Ruki-kun, it's seven-"

"-hai-"

"-at night."

....

He was not quite sure he heard that right. Either his brain is going screwy, or Kai said it was night time. Ruki peeked his head out from the covers and looked once more at the clock. Indeed, the letters indicated it was the evening.

Disregarding the winter air, he threw off his blanket and tore open his long curtains to look out his balcony. Instead of dawn greeting him, it was a sunset, oranges and yellows glowing over the snowy city.

"SHIT!" He had slept through the entire day! How the hell?

Giggling on the other end of the phone line brought his attention back to Kai and the others. He couldn't go back to sleep now! He needed to get to their rendezvous! In fact, he was late!

"Gomen ne. I slept through the whole day..."

"Well, at least you'll have a bunch of energy tonight, right?"

Ruki smiled. "Right..." Currently, he whirled around the room in search for an outfit, turning the water on in the bathroom, and shoving a breakfast bar in his mouth to temporarily satiate his now growling stomach. "I'll be there in about half an hour."

More giggling let him know that it was alright and they'd see him soon. He hung up, undressed, and hopped in the shower. It was a personal record when he came out only ten minutes later.

The sun had set even further, which had him turning on the lights. A pair of jeans with a rose print on one thigh, a black shirt with only three buttons clasped, his regular jewelery, and a squirt of Jo Malone London's Red Lotus and Water Lily cologne later, he was ready to go.

Putting on his make-up, grabbing his steel-toed boots and designer leather jacket, he was out the door in fifteen. His destination was a small lake park about ten minutes away by car, open during this season specifically for ice skating. Ruki wasn't a pro at it, be he could get by without falling down. Kai was really good at it, but Reita hated it. Aoi was really good at it, too, and Uruha was about the same as Ruki.

Turning his ipod on shuffle -Nightmare's "The World" blasting through his speakers- he backed out of his driveway and set off down the road. After two other songs -"Cage" by Dir en Grey and "Selfish Love" by Miyavi- he pulled into the parking lot of Sankei-en. He could see Kai and Reita just inside the entrance, talking softly amongst themselves.

Pulling the shift stick into park and locking the door behind him, Ruki walked hurriedly towards his band mates. Kai noticed him and waved over.

"Hey! You're late!"

Ruki let out a soft 'tch,' putting his keys in his back pocket. "Only by 35 minutes." He gave Kai and Reita a hug, noticing for the first time that someone was missing. "Where are Aoi and Uruha?"

Kai smirked at that. "They 'forgot.'" He scrunched up his fingers in quotation. "They were in the middle of something important-"

"-sex-" Reita supplied.

"-So I told them not to bother," Kai finished with a slightly irritated look over at the other blond for interrupting.

Ruki shook his head. He should have figured that. Those two were joined at the hip almost all the time. And ever since they were lovers about a month ago, they'd been 'forgetting' quite frequently, no matter what it was. Their personal life was none of his business, but he did kind of miss hanging out with them. Oh well, maybe another night. He felt the urge to give them a lecture about quality time with friends.

"Anata wa? Daijoubu desu ka?" Reita put a hand on Ruki's forehead, and Ruki gave him a soft smile.

"Hai, genki desu."

That seemed to relieve him, and he returned the smile. Reita had confessed to him around the same time as Aoi confessed to Uruha. But as it turned out, Ruki only cared for him as a friend. He apologized for turning him down, and he didn't really want to hurt him, but he knew he had. Uruha called him and told him he was drowning himself in alcohol, typical for any depressed, love-sick male. Ruki had to go over there and knock some sense into him; literally. They had talked it out during the night and had gotten things straightened out. Reita was getting better, but sometimes slipped up like he just did.

He figured it might be because they'd spent so much time together. Maybe when they had some time, Ruki could take him out to get him laid, that or kick him into a dating service office. The former of the two sounded less mean, though.

Kai gestured towards the pavilion where ice skates were being rented out. "Well, shall we?"

They both nodded in affirmation and the three of them headed over. Ruki was reluctant to give his boots to the man -they were expensive and the guy looked too desperate for a dollar- but didn't really trust anyone else here. Lanterns hung on string around the rink, dimly lighting the area. There were surprisingly few people out on the ice, which gave him and the others less of a chance for embarrassment.

When he stepped out on the ice, it was just like riding a bike. He slid around unsteadily and Reita was grumbling as he fell on his but. Kai, the bastard, was grinning as he skated by with a perfect posture.

In time, he began to get used to it, one foot pushing at a time, arms swinging to keep his balance. He even managed to switch to backwards skating with a little bit of help from Kai. Reita had given up and gone to sit at a table near the skate booth, a warm drink in his hand. There were even less people out now. An old couple strolling down a path to the bridge, a red-haired and pink-haired couple sitting at a table not too far from Reita, and a couple of lone skaters with him and Kai.

He skated to the edge of the ice and through Reita his jacket. Despite the season and time of day, his constant skating was quickly warming him up. Kai was right, he did have a lot of energy after sleeping all day. Making sure Reita caught hold of his pricey piece of leather, he started off again.

He let the wind cool his face and flap his shirt around. His neck and part of his stomach was bare, but he didn't mind, it felt really good. He didn't do anything with his hair, so it hung down in wispy brunette locks, the breeze moving it around to it's whim.

Feeling content, he sped up a little, turning at the end and turned to ride backwards. He did that for a while, going back and forth, passing Kai once or twice, and even raced him, which he lost, before Kai decided to take a break and join Reita for a drink and help him with his skating. Ruki nodded and watched him go.

Now that he was out here alone, he pondered what to do. He couldn't learn more tricks, and skating alone all of a sudden seemed... well, lonely.

"Hey you."

That call was so close, Ruki wondered if t was to get his attention. What if someone recognized him? He groaned mentally. He didn't want to deal with fans right now. Nevertheless, he turned to whoever was calling.

Indeed he had been discovered, but not just by some ordinary fanboy. Dressed in a zip-up, hooded sweatshirt and slacks was an easily recognizable Kyo from Dir en Grey. This was a surprise, very much a chance meeting since Gazette had planned to meet here only yesterday. Maybe Kyo would think he was stalking him? Crap, he thought, watching the blond skate closer.

"I thought I recognized you. You're Ruki, ne?"

"Hai, Kyo-san. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu." He gave a small bow in a respectful greeting. Even though he wasn't so formal, Ruki felt the need to be. He didn't know why.

He waved Ruki's statement off. "There's no need to be formal." He held out his hand for Ruki to take. "Let's skate. I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about concerning our occupation."

Yes, they did. They talked about when their bands formed, when Dir en Grey went to America, comparing their experiences in Europe, and why their personal interests.

They'd talked for so long, joking, laughing, smiling, that it took Ruki a few minutes to notice Reita at the edge of the ice, his skates trading for his shoes, and Ruki's jacket on his arm. Ruki left Kyo's side for a moment and skated over to him, thankful of the leather as he was starting to get colder. He took it and put it on.

"Kai and I are going, now. I see you've made a new friend."

There was jealousy in that voice. A fan and his band mates might have been fooled, and he might have been, too, if he didn't know Reita was still in love with him. Ruki had to squish that before it got any worse. There was no need for that voice. He was just talking with him, that was all. And since it was his personal life, Reita had no business.

"Yes," he gave him a stern look, "I have. You should be doing the same."

Reita shrugged. "Not many people out here to make friends with."

He sighed. "Well then, we'll just have to take you somewhere with lots of people. Until then, don't go assuming anything."

"I know." His eye softened. "But remember I'm the to come to if you want any dirty work done on him."

Ruki laughed. "Hai, hai. That always belongs to the best friend." He patted his shoulder. "I'll be fine. Alright?" He nodded. "Good."

"See you in a couple of days at the studio?"

"Hai."

After their exchange, and a quick good-bye with Kai, he went back to where Kyo was waiting for him. After adjusting his jacket, they began to skate again.

"He loves you."

Ruki nodded at this. "I know." That was sudden. And personal. He had hoped Kyo didn't pay too much attention to their conversation. No such luck.

"It felt like he was glaring at me all night, even though outwardly he was only staring." Ruki smirked.

"That's bit egotistical."

"I'm a very confident person. It comes with the job."

Ruki nodded again, staying quiet as they drifted along. For the next few minutes they were silent, and the brunette had to wonder if Kyo had disappeared into his own mind. Just as he was thinking about what to say to bring him out of it, Kyo sped up a little and turned to face him, forcing him to stop as well. He tilted his head in question as Kyo gaze pierced his own like a sword through the heart. Ruki almost held in a breath at that serious look, an odd feeling settling in the pit of his stomach.

"Do you love him?"

Ruki contemplated that one; what he felt, and what he should tell him. Part of him wanted to tell Kyo the entire situation. Another part him told the blond to piss off. He didn't want to be rude, so he did a compromise.

"As a friend. Why?"

Kyo didn't answer his question, merely looking at him, as if searching to find the truth. Ruki had said the truth, so he merely waited for the other to say something.

Finally, they broke eye contact, Kyo doing so to look down his form, then to his face on last time before skating off. "Good," he said, skating backwards to keep Ruki in his view.

He wasn't quite sure what to make of that. Good that they were still friends? Good that Ruki was still single? What did that mean; 'good?'

He shrugged it off, trying to keep up with his company. Kyo seemed to be a pretty good ice skater. Better than him, but not as good as Kai. He'd watched Kyo do a simple spin, something he couldn't do, but that was pretty much all he knew. Ruki had wanted to learn that, but he was kind of afraid to. Maybe if he'd ask now, he would diffuse the suddenly slightly uncomfortable feeling in his stomach.

"Teach me that spin you did earlier?"

"Are you sure?" Kyo smirked. "You might fall and break your pretty neck, and then where would we be? Gazette without Ruki-kun?"

He managed to keep the blush off his face as he huffed. "I'm not that fragile." That earned him a chuckle.

"Very well. Here." He held out a hand again. "I'll teach you to spin with me, so that you have less a chance of falling. Okay?"

Ruki hesitated, making Kyo sigh. "Do you trust me...?"

Ruki wanted to say no, but he couldn't find anything to fault him with. He was sure Kyo knew what he was doing. But he couldn't feeling there were other implications with that hand and even though he wasn't sure what they were, he had to be cautious. But that gut feeling interrupted again and made him slowly take that hand.
