Sorry for not keeping up with LJ lately. I've been kind of distracted by other things: my parents' birthdays, their anniversary, the Olympics, rediscovering Neoquest II and basking in the nostalgia, and (most importantly) becoming obsessed with the Codex Alera novels. At first I was pretty unimpressed with the series, but the main character grew on

And yeah, there's no doubt- the biggest obstacle to being with Eirika seems to consistently be never being able to be as close with her as Ephraim is. In. . . whatever sense you'd like to take that :B

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of Natasha until I read her supports with Seth and Cormag. She was one of those characters that I had no opinion of, aside from the fact that I preferred using her over Moulder for my healer. I hadn't really considered the fact that she was from Grado, or how it would affect her relationship with the other characters, until I read her supports. (I guess I tended to forget that she was from the enemy country because she's recruited at the start of the chapter instead of being recruited as an enemy, and because she's a noncombatant until she promotes.) Anyway, I really loved her supports with Seth, especially when they talk about Grado, and when Seth tries to convince her to bend her cleric's vows for him. XD

A few of the Ephraim supports had amusing lines about Eirika too, though I admit that I may have my shipping goggles on too tight.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I try to walk outside every day, more for the sunshine than for the exercise, but today I decided "Screw this, it's too hot." It feels like I'm melting every time I'm outside for more than one minute.

Yes, there are TONS of new figures! This set, a mini set with Cadance and Shining Armour, and one with Granny Smith and Big Mac, and lots of new Cadance figures, and probably some others that I'm forgetting.

Exactly. :'D I pretty much dread doing ANYTHING when those 40C + (from what I recall that's about the same temperature range) roll around in the summer, which they unfortunately always do. I mean, if you actually did start to melt, I wouldn't blame you. 8|

OH MAN WHERE HAVE I BEEN. I haven't been checking Toys R Us at all lately; hopefully I haven't let any good ones slip though the cracks. :x

I always figured that Innes needing to "best" Ephraim was more of a doujou yaburi thing. Like needing permission from a father to date a daughter, except with her brother instead. Proving that he is a stronger man proves that he is worthy of taking her away from her family and providing for her. A stereotypical brother would NEVER be cool with his rival running off with his sister, too, so "beating Ephraim" is probably the only way for Innes to get around that with his honour intact.

But then, I could never see EirikaxEphraim even with all the game's hints, since twincest is one of my major turn-offs. Probably because my sisters are twins and just...what. No.

Yeah, I get that, but... I dunno, it still seems like there are multiple levels of meaning in those support conversations. There's the canon meaning, which is what you described, and then there's the twincest subtext. I find it hard to believe that there would be so much subtext on accident. At least some of it had to be intentional.

Incest is normally a huge turnoff for me too, but Eirika and Ephraim don't squick me out, for some reason. I think it might be because I kept forgetting that they were brother and sister the first time I played the game. I kept having to remind myself not to ship it, then gave up and started shipping it anyway after completing the game a few times. (Weirdly, the only other incest pairing that doesn't squick me out is also a pair of twins... though that relationship is canon and is a lot more messed up than Eirika and Ephraim's.)

I went to Target last night and walked out with the Fashion Style Cadance/Shining Armor, the Royal Wedding set of the 2" ponies, and a Pinkie Pie Plush. So much for not having any money...

I'm pretty sure the two Cadances are the same. At least I'm hoping that are, so I don't have to purchase both @_@

My Target only had the big talking Cadance, though they did have a lot of the plush and blind bag-sized ponies.

Indeed. I'd prefer not to pay $35 for the castle set just to get a Cadance. Especially because I have no idea what I'd do with the castle.

Like I said, I will take pics of the Cadence that is coming my way. Hum, according to tracking, the set may just arrive today! Hooray for ponies...XD

Virgina was having some rather unbearable heat, a heat index anywhere from 105 to 115 degrees. Today, it is only suppose to get 91, so I guess the wave here seems to have finally died down some?!

I was able to find pics of the two Cadances online, so you don't need to take photos... unless you just want to, of course.

The weird thing about the heat here is that it's raining in the middle of the night. It's still super hot during the day though.

Is there a difference in them?! I just got the Target package yesterday and I plan to post some pics in my journal either today or tomorrow. I need to style Luna's mane and tail when I get a chance...:3

We have had a lot of rain in the evening too, which is odd for normally we get it in the middle of the day. Despite the lower temperature, it is super humid and sticky right now. Yuck...;_;
