For those of you who don't know, I used to be hardcore into both the collecting and the gameplay aspects of the Pokemon TCG. I sold most of my Pokemon cards after I went to college, but I kept a small percentage of my collection

Coming from someone who only rarely gets TCG, I had a lot of fun reading this. Very informative to me! Though disturbing at the same time because WTF Moo-Moo Milk... my god... That Japanese Chansey card is super cute though. <3 And I lol'd at Grimer; his American expression reminds me of Cookie Monster.
That's good to know. I've known about most of these for 10+ years, but that's also because I lived and breathed the Pokemon TCG for a while. I was hoping other people would be mildly amused by it.
There's a Japanese Doduo too, from the same set as Chansey. The art on the Doduo isn't as cute, but the text is hilarious. Iirc, one attack forces you to sing your opponent to sleep and the other one makes you fling the card across the table. Why did we not get an English version of these two cards?
China censors a lot of things that are imported. When I played Magic the gathering we used to talk smack about all the alternate art cards done for them.
Evidently one big thing found in games and magic cards are skeletons!
The art on Eevee and Gardevoir! @_@ So pretty and sparkly!
That moo moo milk card has always just creeps me out ever since I saw it on a Pokebeach post. I agree with you about Sentret and also just the way it's drawn is really awkward to me.
I love censored cards, too! I love hearing all about the Pokémon censorship from the old days, actually--I'm working on a panel about it for my next big con.
Shiny collection is so pretty. I keep wanting to get some booster packs, but the booster packs always seem so expensive. ;; One of these days!
Ahhh, I think you're way ahead of me on Fire Emblem (I should hope so!), so I can't relate to those characters yet, but sounds awesome anyway. XD Thanks for the advice on it the other day, too--I'm trying to get back to you on it but I keep getting distracted by Fire Emblem, LOL.
Yeah, the Japanese boosters are expensive if you don't have a direct source to import them. I kind of regret not buying the shiny collection Pikachu when I had the chance.
I beat the main story in Fire Emblem a few weeks ago. Now I'm playing through all the optional chapters to recruit characters I missed the first time around. (I also started a second file with a female tactician so I can get the extra supports, because I'm one of those "100% completionist" gamers.) The characters I mentioned are characters that you can recruit after chapter 13, if you meet certain conditions.
Haha, it's fine. Fire Emblem has been distracting me for several weeks.

I pulled the Japanese Moo Moo Milk from a pack when I was a kid. It always creeped me out a bit.

I pulled that Moo Moo Milk from a pack before I had seen any scans of the set. Needless to say, 12-year-old me was mildly traumatized.
