Oh, not at all. You're right on the money. That was most definitely a sneaky double entendre. The show LOVES them. For example:

Blade: *watches Howie drag his crazed robot girlfriend into another room* Where are you two going? Private party?
Howie: *laughing* Yeah! *to himself* ...I'm going to JAIL!

Or the fact that Barbara Gordon strongly implied she had been boffing Bruce when they were younger. Or the fact that Terry totally had sex with Melanie in "Once Burned". The list goes on and on...
