“Target is 113 meters. The transaction is almost
started” Aoi inform the situation through headphone
and watch the drugs transaction from a far. The others
were already standing by on their place, hiding behind
cars and waiting quietly for their captain command.
“It started. Every personnel please get ready. Tora,
you-” he looked back to where his partner was supposed
to be, but he wasn’t there. “Damn! Tora! Where are
you?!” he called by the headphone several times in low
voice.
“Sir, Tora is behind the red Ferrari” One of Aoi’s boy
told him. Aoi snapped his gaze to the red Ferrari
whose belong to the drugs seller and caught the half
blond man, sneaking silently nearing the spot where
the transaction was held.
“Goddamnit! Tora Come back!”
The called man pretended like he didn’t hear, Instead,
he pulled off his headphone then mouthed ‘Fuck you’ to
Aoi. He keep moving slowly until he reached the back
of the car, put out a black coin-like from his jacket
pocket and stick it onto the bumper with a soft click.
“Hey, did you hear something?” one of the suspects
turned over and walked to behind his red car.
Everyone froze. Aoi gritted his teeth in between anger
and anxiety.
While every body pray for Tora’s safety, the half
blond man made a quick, exact but smooth movement
-that proved others how he really deserve his CIA
position- to behind another car before his suspect
caught him. Everyone look in amazement and breathed in
relief, only Aoi didn’t.
As predicted, the entire investigation was messed up.
The drug sellers noticed something was wrong and they
quickly drove off, before the cops could do anything.

“I can’t stand it anymore!!” for the umpteenth time,
Aoi’s palm hit the desk, making a slight cracked sound
as he did so. In front of him, Uruha sat unmoved,
sweats rolled down his forehead, being scolded by Aoi
was usual thing for him, but being scolded because of
someone else that didn’t have relation with him just
to release his leader’s anger made him somewhat…
shocked.
Unfortunately, so did Kai, who accidentally came into
Aoi’s room in wrong time. He stood still beside the
closed door while sometimes exchanged questioning
glance with Uruha, which only replied with a shrug
from the blond.
“That idiot stripe head ruined all of my works for the
entire month. EVERYTHING!” he bowed his head in
desperate... and anger. "It just two goddamn weeks of
his existence in here..." Aoi mumbleb to himself "what
if he's here for two years? Damnit!"
Aoi was terribly irritated with his new partner’s act.
He recalled that CIA agent was the best in his
country, but the goddamn agent failed in doing his
first -easy- job. That really put his division into
shame. Aoi never fail, never in his 5 years’ career in
criminal investigation.
Why he didn’t have a right to mad? That was
impossible!
He slouched down to his seat and exhaled loudly.
“Get out!”
Both officers quickly scooted away, Uruha without
looking back anymore, while Kai still reminded his
boss to drink the coffee he made before it turned
cold.
--
It was almost midnight already when Uruha came back
from routine patrol. Stretching his back and groaned
tiredly he glanced to Aoi’s room, the light was still
on, which meant Aoi hadn’t gone home. Uruha shrugged
and decided to take some coffee before managed to
watch his unfinished dorama.
“Amano Shinji…” he muttered in surprise once he came
into the pantry’s door frame. Tora turned to where the
voice came from, and smiled. A box of sugar was on his
left hand, while another hand was holding a small
spoon.
“Tora in short, please” Uruha walked in and sat on a
chair, facing the agent’s back. “Want some coffee?”
“Uh-huh” he nodded, though he knew that Tora wouldn’t
have seen the nod. “Yeah…”
“Sugar?” coffee was poured into two cups; soon the
nice smell filled the air.
“2 spoons, thanks”
“Here you go”
Both cups were placed on the small table while Tora
sat across Uruha, drinking his coffee in silence. For
several minutes there was nothing except the smell of
coffee and crickets sounding outside.
“You haven’t gone home?” Uruha asked.
“Nope. I still have some things to do” Tora answered.
“Aoi-san is very disappointed you know”
The other man chuckled. “I told you all before. I am
an investigator; I used to work secretly, alone. I
can’t work in a group, and I am supposed to be behind
the screen.”
Tora repeated all the words perfectly, like what he
said 2 weeks ago, on the first time he came to Japan
and met them.
Uruha knew it was hard to adapt with new place, where
everything was different. United State and Japan, it
was a blessed that Tora can speak Japanese, so there
was no more misunderstanding than this.. They need
time to get along with each other, Aoi and Tora. But
somehow, he felt that the two were a good combination.
A serious and short tempered Aoi with ignorant and
indifferent Tora, both were professionals and
dedicated agents.
“Why are you smiling like that?” Tora raised an
eyebrow, watching the blond giggled at his own secret
thoughts.
“Ah, nothing…”
A soft ring interrupted their conversation. Tora’s
face brightened as he quickly put out a small black
receiver-like thing but with a screen on it. He smiled
and stood up.
“Great. It’s here”
“What…? Oi…”
Without answering the blond’s call, Tora quickly
dashed out from the office and drove off, leaving
Uruha stood alone in pantry, confused.
-
Tora turned off his cell phone as he saw some people
entered the abandoned building. Making sure he was
perfectly hid behind bushes, he waited patiently with
eyes fixed to his target. Not too long later, he grin
in victory.
“Arimasa, eh? Got ya…”
The rest was run smoothly, no one from around 9 people
doing the transaction realized that they were being
spied. Tora waited patiently like he was almost
invisible, as expected from a special agent. He knew
he could get more if he kept on waiting, soon they
would lead him to the final boss. He felt like playing
a game. It was more interesting than any other game on
PSP he ever played.
Well, for Tora, Police Department is like a game shop
where you can pick any games with difference
difficulties, depend with your taste. And Tora want to
be a winner of all games. It's including this one.
He put an earphone and listening carefully to what the
people 13 meters across him were talking about.
In the middle of his concern, he felt a pat on his
shoulder, making him jerked up in shocked.
