Band: D & Dir en grey
Rating: PG-13 [character death]
Summary: Shinya and Asagi discuss their plans for the future.
Author's Notes: I bet a bunch of people on 50stories have a really happy/silly story on this theme, but I sure didn't.

After looking around their quiet home, Shinya decided to walk outside and hope his lover was there. It wasn’t like the vocalist to leave him all alone without telling him where he was going…unless it was something serious. But he hadn’t “disappeared” since a couple days before he popped the big question.

Wandering through the pure white snow, the drummer bit his lip nervously and folded his arms for warmth. He parted his lips and began to call his name, “Asagi!” He looked around and noticed no one was to be seen. “Asagi! Where are you, Asagi?!?”

He walked a little more, now at the side of the house. His eyes scanned the vacant area and his vision began to slowly blur from sadness and worry. He pouted a bit and sat under the sakura tree.

“Why won’t you answer me? I thought…you loved me,” he said quietly to himself, wiping the tears from his face.

“…But I do love you,” a soft, deep voice replied, grabbing Shinya’s ungloved hand.

“A-asagi…”

“I didn’t want you to worry about me, I just needed to think about a couple things,” the older man assured with a light smile.

“Is it about the wedding? Because we can wait until -“

“Shinya, it’s not about the wedding. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I’m sure of that,” he grinned.

“Then, is it the family?”

The dark haired man shook his head and entwined their fingers. He sat up a little on his elbow and adjusted to his side to see his now fiancée’s face. Lifting his other arm up, he gently caressed the younger man’s face and pushed a few dark brown strands from his soft skin.

“Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are to me?” he asked, allowing his thumb to rub Shinya’s cheek.

The drummer’s lips formed a pleasant smile and answered, “Almost every morning.”

“Hmm…you know I mean every word, right?”

“Of course.” Shinya blushed lightly as he remembered hearing Asagi’s low whispers and his charming, poetic words that always made his day a little more special.

Adjusting once more in the snow, Asagi rested his head on Shinya’s lap and moved their attached hands to his chest. “So, tell me what you want for our wedding.”

Shinya smiled and looked down at the other as he thought of ideas. “I’ve always wanted a big wedding with all our family and friends. Maybe in a big fancy church like the ones in Europe, I always thought those were so beautiful.”

“Mhmm,” he agreed, gradually closing his eyes. “And what about our honeymoon?”

The drummer blushed again at the question. “Anou…I guess if we actually do go to Europe then we can reserve a suite on the top floor of the hotel. It’d be nice to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up at night through our window, but I guess that doesn’t answer your question, ne?” he laughed a little.

Asagi simply smiled and replied, “Not really, but it’s something.”

“Hmm…well, you can always surprise me. You always come up with the greatest ideas. They’re always so romantic and memorable. I love that about you.”

“Heh…I guess I could think of something. So, once one of us retires, do you still want to have a family?”

“It’d be nice. We could adopt twins or something and we can spoil them both with our love. It’d be fun to take them to school and watch them grow up. I bet Miyu would get more exercise with younger people around, ne?” Shinya looked down and ran his fingers through Asagi’s silky black hair as he noticed his lovely, rare smile, assuming he was still listening. “I don’t think I could think about kids just yet. I might not want any at all or maybe we could just adopt a daughter. Then, we’d probably have to think of pretty name for her. Maybe we could name her after a flower since you like gardening. Maybe ‘Rose’ or ‘Lily’… Hmm…or would you prefer a son?” He glanced back down and noticed the same expression on Asagi’s face as before.

Laughing a little, Shinya shook their hands and asked, “Asagi, are you asleep?”

He didn’t say anything, just kept the pleasant smile on his face as he continued to lie on the drummer. Shinya kept laughing softly and shook his lover more. “Come on, Asagi. Let’s go inside. It’s much warmer in the house than here,” he suggested, yet the old man didn’t move.

The younger man’s playful expression dropped as he continued to nudge the other and said his name.

“Asagi, please, wake up,” the drummer began to plead, but he didn’t move.

His grip loosened and his face still plastered a smile of content. Shinya frowned and looked around frantically, hoping some random person would show up to help him. His hand moved to the ground to lift himself up from the spot, but he felt something unusual.

Shinya lifted his hand and looked at it. His skin was covered with red snow. He examined Asagi carefully, but he didn’t notice any blood on his clothes or anywhere on his body.

“Please…no…you can’t die,” he said softly, nudging the motionless vocalist, but it was hopeless.

A tear escaped the corner of the younger man’s eye and fell onto Asagi’s face. He bent down, folding his arms, and cried quietly to himself on his lover’s chest as the new snow fell on them.
