7:30 pm - Central Japan

Standing in front of Yoshiki Hayashi’s main company building, Asagi pulls out his cell phone and dials one of his men’s numbers. It was hard being leader of West Japan’s yakuza. Not only did he have to keep track of his men, but Asagi had to always make sure he was two steps ahead of his opponent.

On the other side of town at a fancy French restaurant, a very happy couple sits at a table, finishing off their meal.

“I still can’t believe you took me here,” Toshiya says with a bright smile.

“Well, I wanted to do something extra special for my one true love,” the younger man responds, digging in his pocket, “But before we order dessert, I have a question for you.”

“Really? What would that be?” he asks, curiously.

“Ever since Kaoru broke your heart, I felt like you really needed someone trustworthy and loyal in your life. So, for several years, I tried to be that person. When we were in high school, I always felt something special between us and now, Hara Toshimasa,” he begins, pulling out a small grey box and standing up, “I can finally ask if you -“

Suddenly, at that very moment, Miyavi’s cell rings. His eyes look over at the annoying device and then back at his lover, trying to ignore the oriental chimes of his ringtone.

“Toshiya, will you -“ he begins again, then glances back at his phone. “Damn,” he grumbles, “Give me a minute.”

The older man sighs and sits back in his seat as Miyavi walks away from their table and answers the phone.

“What is it?” he answers, quite irritated.

“Excuse me,” Asagi replies, quirking a brow on the other end.

“Gomen nasai, sir. What’s up?”

“You’re late again. Are you sure you want to risk getting demoted, Miyavi-san?” his leader says with a firm tone.

“No, sir. I totally forgot about it. Listen, give me twenty minutes to get there, I’m in the middle of something very important,” Miyavi requests, pacing a little in the somewhat quiet restaurant.

“Ten.”

“Fifteen.”

“Fine, fifteen minutes,” the dark haired man agrees, “If you’re not here by then, consider yourself demoted, maybe even dead.”

Swallowing hard, the younger man soon hears the dial tone follow his superior’s threat. Even though being in the yakuza was a risky business, it paid a lot of money and Miyavi was very skilled in it.

He pushes a few strands of hair from his eyes and approaches the slightly fidgety man. He gives a pleasant smile and nears his side as the other asks, “Who was that?”

“Just…my boss. I forgot I had a meeting tonight. So, I have fifteen minutes to ask what I need to ask and get going,” he answers, suddenly feeling nervous.

“Oh…alright,” Toshiya says softly, waiting patiently for his koi to get out his question.

Miyavi takes a deep breath, holds onto the table for balance as he lowers himself to the ground, and asks bravely, “Hara Toshimasa, will you marry me?” He lifts up the light grey box in his hand, revealing an expensive, shiny white gold ring.

Toshiya blushes lightly, then throws his arms around his arms around his neck and gives a small kiss on his cheek as he answers, “Of course, I will.”

Smiling happily, he pulls the ring out the box, takes the other’s hand, and slides the ring onto his finger. He raises up to his feet and gives his now fiancée a kiss and whispers, “I’ll see you tonight with dessert.”

Toshiya nods. “Okay. If you’re late, I’ll understand. I love you. Be careful out there.”

The younger man picks up his coat. “I love you too. I’ll be careful just for you.”

After speeding down the highway, Miyavi finally pulls up in his silver Porsche. He flicks his lipring nervously and looks in the rearview mirror, smiling. Even though his boss was going to yell at them more for being late, he knew that Asagi would lecture him about if afterwards.

He steps out his car and approaches the group of people standing outside. The dark haired man unfolds his arms and checks his watch.

“Good, you still have two minutes to spare,” Asagi says, “Come on, we’re already late and I don’t want our boss to bitch at us about it.”

As they walk down the hall of the huge executive skyline, the group of men follow their brave leader. Someone presses the button, once they near the elevator. The doors open in a few minutes and they all fill up the small space.

Miyavi stands in a corner and Hide-Zou leans over, whispering, “How’d it go?”

The younger man smiles and looks over at the brunette to answer. “Everything was perfect. He even said ‘yes’,” he whispers back.

“Congrats, man!” Hide-Zou beams, hitting the other’s shoulder lightly. “Have you figured out when the wedding is?”

“Well, we didn’t get a chance to discuss it, but I was hoping to -“

“We’re here,” Asagi announces in monotone.

Miyavi and Hide-Zou straighten up their stance and return to following the man in front of them. They walk down the white marble hallway and go down the luxurious black rug that lead up to a set of wooden double doors.

The guards move from their positions and open the door for the group of men. Once Asagi steps into the large office, their boss immediately says, “You’re late.”

He pauses in front of his desk and bows apologetically at the back of his boss’s chair. “Gomen nasai, Yoshiki-sama,” the dark haired man spoke up. “One of my men had an important proposal he had to make tonight.”

“Congratulations, Miyavi-san,” he says in a slightly pleasant tone.

“Arigato, Yoshiki-sama,” Miyavi replies, stepping up and bowing respectfully.

“Please, take a seat. I have an important task especially for you,” Yoshiki begins, turning his chair around to face them.

Asagi sits down in the leather chair directly in front of their boss and the others sit in the seats slightly behind him, waiting to listen.

“Asagi-san, I know how skilled you are at getting past any security system or lock. I also know that Miyavi-san and Uruha-san are very good at distracting our obstacles, so I decided the perfect task for you,” their boss continues, leaning forward in his revolving chair, “I’ve been trying to make a deal with Tatsuya Akeda’s Diamond Company, but for some reason he doesn’t want to associate our companies together.”

“So, what do you want us to do, boss?” Asagi asks, eagerly.

Yoshiki smirks a little and pulls out a newspaper. He lightly tosses it on his desk and points out an article. “Right there is where I want you men to be. Once you get there, I want you to pick up a few things for me.”

“Anything specific, sir?”

“Hai. The company bragged about a new shipment of priceless Italian jewelry. If my company has it, we can make millions with them. I know you can handle a simple robbery, right”

The men nod and Yoshiki concludes, “Good. Now be gone.”

9:00 pm - East Japan

Kaoru hangs up the phone as Die takes the last puff of his cigarette, before putting it out on the damp pavement. The group of men look up at the neon lit sign of the night club and finally enter through the doors.

Kaoru leads them toward the back of the club, to their usual table where they meet people for business. He slid into the booth first and the others follow him while they wait.
Gackt lifts his hand in the air, signaling one the waiters to come by their table. He orders a round of drinks, then settles back into his seat.

“What’s tonight’s business, boss?” he asks, looking over at the younger man.

“Yoshiki-sama wants us to close the deal with Tatsuya Akeda’s Diamond Company. He’s been trying to negotiate a few things with him,” Kaoru answers with a slight smirk on his face.

The others nod and pick up their recently distributed glasses. Die takes the first sip and asks, “Do we need to do anything physical to these guys?”

“We’re not going to do anything irrational to them, unless they force it upon us. I’ll give you and Kyo the signal, don’t worry.”

The red-head sighs and takes another sip of his alcohol as the group of business men approach their table. The man in front of the group straightens his tie and pauses in front of the table, before speaking. “I heard Yoshiki-sama has agreed to consider our demands for this business merge, am I correct?” Tatsuya begins.

“Hai,” Kaoru simply answers, eyeing Hyde with the documents in a folder. Hyde sits the folder on the table, opens it, and hands the document to their leader. The older man flips through the pages and slides them to the opposite side of the table.

Tatsuya pulls out a pen from his inner jacket pocket of his suit, bends down, and skims over the words. He smiles a bit at the contract and places the tip of the pen on the bold line about to add his signature to it, until his cell phone rings. He stands up and holds up his index finger. “Excuse me.”

The leader nods a bit and watches the man walk off to the side to talk on his phone. Gackt leans over and whispers in his ear, “This is too easy…” The other smiles a bit at the comment and continues to keep his eye on the business man conversing on the phone.

Tatsuya closes his flip phone, shoves it in his pocket, and returns to the table with an unpleasant expression. He picks up the contract and rips it up into four sections. Kaoru’s smile drops as he watches the shreds fall on the table, then looks up at the leader with slight anger.

“What was that for? I thought we had a deal, Tatsuya-san,” he says.

“The deals off! I just got word that my jewelry store has been broken into by your men,” the other man.

“My men? My men are all here. I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

The orange haired man looks to his left and right; suddenly his guards pull out their guns and aims them at the yakuza. “I believe you’re lying to me. My security told me a group of men, suspected to be part of the yakuza, had broken into my building. Do you know how much money all that rare jewelry is?”

“Well, you must have a couple idiots as security to believe it was my men. You know there is another yakuza in this country, right?” Kaoru tries to defend.

“Lies. I know their under the leadership of Yoshiki-san, so they must be part of your group.”

“There’s only one yakuza under the power of Yoshiki-sama and that’s the East yakuza. Whoever broke into your building was not us!”

Tatsuya shakes his head and walks away from their table, muttering something to his guards. The men dressed up in suits cock their guns and get ready to shoot the men. Die and Kyo bolt up in their seats, swiftly pulling out their hidden pistols and aiming at their opponents.

Gackt and Hyde slide out the booth and go to the entrance of where their secluded table is located. The shorter man walks out the door, stands in front of it, and the other man closes it after Hyde exits.

Kaoru picks up his glass, leaves it on his bottom lip, and gives the command, “Kill ‘em.” He sips his drink as gun shots cut through the tense silence of the room. Within a few minutes, the bodies fall the floor and the gunman move from their spots to clean up the evidence.

Smirking into his now empty glass, the leader stands up and moves away from their table. “Leave Tatsuya a little present from Kaoru-san, ne?” he says softly, exiting the room and the club with Gackt and Hyde.

Gackt opens the back door to the car for their leader, lets him sit inside, and closes it, before going in the passenger’s seat. Hyde starts up the car and then began driving off. Kaoru lights his cigarette, taking a long drag, and says, “That went well…”
