After cluelessly watching the taller man venture for various products in the store and muttering incoherent babble, we finally entered his home and immediately made our way to the living room couch. I put my bag down on the carpet and quietly watched my best friend mouth the directions of the hair dye box to himself. I raised a brow and questioned my choice to go along with this makeover plan.

“Alright! Ready to be a blonde~?” Miyavi asked with a grin.

“I don’t know. I’m a little nervous about all this. What if he still doesn’t notice me?” I asked back, feeling very nervous about the whole transformation.

“I guarantee he’ll notice you, once we’re done,” he grinned, before standing up with the small box of dye. He tugged me up and dragged me to the bathroom.

Within thirty minutes or so, Miyavi began drying my hair and kept me from looking at my reflection in the mirror above the sink. His fingers ran through my hair and soon I heard snipping noises, then I glanced down and my eyes widen at the sight of blonde and black locks of hair fall to the floor.

“What are you doing?!” I exclaimed, inwardly panicking at the sight of more hair hitting the bathroom tiles.

“I’m giving you a new style. What you have is too plain and our goal is to make you stand out,” he explained, cutting away a little more and ruffling my hair.

I sighed and closed my eyes, murmuring, “I hope you know what you’re doing.”

“Trust me~ You’re going to look amazing, Ruki.”

I closed my eyes, slightly afraid to watch anymore of my dyed locks fall, and soon heard Miyavi moving around me, then sprayed my hair. I coughed a little and tensed inwardly as I heard a light sizzle above me.

“What are you doing now?” I asked curiously, hearing another light sizzle.

“Styling your hair. You’re gonna love it~”

He turned the chair around to face the mirror and messed with a couple strands, then said, “Alright~ Check it out!”

I opened my eyes slowly and stared at my reflection in awe. I slid forward in my seat, examined the flipped blonde and black hair, and smiled at my transformation. I turned, looked up at Miyavi and said, “I like it. I like it a lot, but do I really need the eye make-up?” I looked at my reflection and studied the black color surrounding my eyes skeptically.

“You don’t have to, but it makes you stand out a little more. You have nice eyes, Ruki,” Miyavi replied.

I blushed lightly and smiled at my reflection a little, before slipping out the chair. “Thanks,” I said, giving Miyavi a hug.

“No problem. Let’s get you home and you can give me your uniform,” he said, unplugging the flat iron from the wall.

“My uniform?”

“Yeah, I’m gonna alter it for you.”

I nodded a bit and stared leaving the bathroom.

Miyavi tugged on my newly modified jacket over my shoulders and began messing with my hair some. I made a face and groaned softly, trying to move away from my best friend’s touchy hands.

“Stop moving so much,” he said.

“This is embarrassing,” I whined a little, wanting to get out the bathroom stall.

“I’m almost done,” he replied, looking me over and snipping off a loose thread from my pants, “There~ You look like a rock star now.”

I blushed a little, stepped out the stall, and looked in the mirror in awe. “Do you really think he’ll notice me like this?”

“If he doesn’t, then you’re too good for him,” Miyavi assured, stepping out the stall as well.

I sighed, picked up my backpack, and walked out the bathroom, immediately getting a few stares from some students. I quickly ducked back into the restroom with dark pink stained cheeks.

“What’s wrong?” the taller man asked with concern.

“I can’t go out there!”

“Why?”

“I’m…I’m scared,” I answered softly.

Miyavi shook his head and laughed a little. He opened the door, nudged me out the bathroom, and followed me out. He leaned over and whispered, “Just ignore everyone and head to class.”

I nodded a bit and tried to avoid everyone’s stares at I went to my class. I paused outside the classroom door and took a deep breath, then felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up a little and saw Miyavi’s warm smiling face. I watched him brush past me and enter the room confidently. I bit my lip and forced myself to follow, feeling my classmates’ eyes follow me to my desk.

I blushed lightly and inwardly wanted to hide away in a corner. I took my seat and started taking out my notebook and pencil, then put my focus on the board in front of me and attempted to ignore everyone’s stares and whispers. My eyes soon wandered once the door opened and the beautiful blonde entered the classroom, messing with his hair. I tried not to look too obvious s following him to his seat. He smiled at me and settled in his desk, pulling out his own notebook.

I shook my head a little and trained my focus back to the board, trying not to let curiosity get the best of me. By the time my teacher’s voice faded from his lecture, he began passing out papers to all of us. I looked down at the printed words as he explained the instructions to our new project and soon interrupted my thoughts by the mention that we need a partner.

I glanced over at Miyavi to my left and he gave me an assuring smile as our teacher continued explaining. He walked back to the front of the classroom and dismissed us a little before the bell sounded. I stood up, gathered my things, and headed out the room. Miyavi caught up with me and we walked to our lockers.

“So, what should we do for our project?” I asked with a smile.

“Ruki-kun…” a voice intruded.

I looked up and froze at the sight of Uruha standing between my desk and Miyavi’s. I stared up at him as he continued to talk.

“I was wondering if you’d like to be my partner for this project,” he said.

I glanced over at Miyavi and opened my mouth to speak.

“I’m going to ask Lily,” Miyavi said, moving from his desk and catching up to the girl with the long brunette hair.

“So…?” Uruha prodded a little.

“Um…s-sure,” I stammered nervously.

“Great! I’ll come over tomorrow afternoon,” he said with a smile, before walking off to get his bag and exit the classroom.

I blinked a bit and watched the blonde disappear through the door way of the classroom. I soon snapped out of my daze, glanced down at the project instructions, and tucked it away in my binder, before putting the rest of my belongings in my bag. I picked up my bag and put it on my shoulders, then left the room and headed toward my locker, still in a slight dace from what happened.

“So, you finally got what you wanted,” Miyavi said, slipping into my view with a smile, “Told you that the makeover would work.”

“I…guess,” I replied a bit hesitantly, opening my locker and putting a couple books away, “But what if I mess up when he comes over?”

“Just stay calm and focus on the project, since work relaxes you strangely,” he said with a smile, “You’ll be fine.”
