Author's Notes: It's been a while, right? I'm still writing lots, but no time to share. Hopefully, this'll change in the future!
Ka-yu stared at his tools silently for a moment and jumped a bit as he felt a hand touch his shoulder. He quickly turned around and smiled at the other. “Hey, Aki-chan~” he said softly.
“Senpai, are you alright? You look a little pale today and you’ve been acting a little strange too,” Aki asked with much worry.
“Yeah, yeah…Just zoned out for a minute,” he answered, keeping the smile on his face.
Aki lifted his hand, put the back of it against the other’s forehead, and played with his lip ring idly. “Well, you feel normal,” he commented, removing his hand.
“Of course I feel normal. I’m not sick,” he chuckled.
“Then what is it? I’ve been worried about you, senpai,” Aki questioned while studying the older man, “Should I make an appointment with Dr. Hirashima?”
“Calm down. I’m not dying,” he replied and sat down, “I haven’t been sleeping well. No big deal.”
“It is a big deal. If you can’t sleep, it’ll cloud your judgment just as much as alcohol,” the younger man responded, “Maybe you should take the rest of the day off, drink some warm milk, and try to get some sleep.”
“I told you, I’m fine.”
“Please, senpai. I can take care of the shop and bring some dinner over, after I close up,” he pleaded.
Ka-yu sighed and looked up at him. “You won’t leave me alone if I stay, will you?”
Aki simply shook his head and looked back at him, eyes full of concern.
The older man stood up and began putting up his equipment, then looked over at Aki. “I’ll try to get a nap in, but you don’t have to check on me, mom~” he teased a bit, before going in the back for his bag and finally leaving the shop.
Once he made it home, he tossed his bag aside, went in the kitchen, and began warming up a glass of milk as suggested. He thought about how worried and caring Aki had been to him, since the accident, and wondered whether the young man was always this gentle and selfless toward him. He was so genuine and pure, unlike himself. Sure, Ka-yu was kind and giving, but he was more ambitious when it came to social activities.
The milk was done warming up and Ka-yu went to relax on the couch, enjoying the feeling of tension ease throughout his mind and body. He smiled to himself and thought of something he learned about the other. He figured he could easily find a decent girl for him. He had everything a girl could ask for.
He sipped his milk and sighed contently as his body gradually sank into the couch more. The phone suddenly rang and his face scrunched up a bit. He opened his eyes, dug out his phone from his bag, and answered, “Hello?”
“Ka-yu! What’s up, man?” a lively voice responded.
“Oh, hey, Yasu. Just resting a little.”
“Awesome. I got my stuff together, if you haven’t changed your mind.”
“Oh, you’re coming over right now?” he asked, glancing over his apartment. It wasn’t clean, but it wasn’t a pig sty either.
“Well, I’m on my way over, but I can come later if you want.”
“No, it’s fine. I’ll try to stay awake,” Ka-yu laughed lightly.
“Okay! I’ll see you soon,” the other said, before hanging up.
Ka-yu sighed, glanced over his apartment one more time, and shrugged off the little mess in the space. His eyelids got heavier and he noticed the milk taking effect a lot quickly than normal. He drifted off for a few minutes and soon a knock startled him from his rest.
His eyes widen for a second as he looked around and finally stared at the door. He put the half empty glass on the table, stood up, and walked to the door, opening it with a sleepy smile.
“Ka-yu,” the man greeted, hugging him immediately.
“Hey. Sorry if the place is a mess, but I-“ he began to apologize.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s a lot neater than my place,” the other replied with a laugh as he entered the apartment.
“Do you need help carrying your stuff?” Ka-yu offered.
“No, this is everything,” Yasu answered, holding up the designer knock off bag, “So, where am I crashing?”
Ka-yu tried to push the sleep aside, rubbed his eyes, and led him to a small hallway with three doors. He opened the first door on the right, flipped the light switch, and said, “This is your room. If you need towels or anything, they’re in the door next to yours. If you need me, my room is across from yours.”
Yasu nodded and smiled at him. “Thanks again, brother,” he said, going inside the guest room and making himself comfortable. He closed the door and Ka-yu decided to retreat to the couch, hoping it wasn’t too rude to attempt that nap again.
