Kyou looked across the room at her sister, who was sitting in front of the dining room TV watching Pokemon with one of her friends. Her eyes were trained on the screen as Pikachu used an attack on the enemies. She'd started school before Kyou, and had already made friends with a wide-eyed, talkative girl. Ai rolled over to lay on her stomach, her bottom half warm and cozy under the kotatsu. She had just finished telling her parents about her new friend, Kyou, and how pretty and nice she was. Kyou had even sent her a text message already, and Ai couldn't help but feel ecstatic.

Kyou felt her phone vibrate in her hands, and quickly flipped it open to see a text from Ai. She smiled widely, glad that the other had gotten her text alright.

Ai's phone began to play a light melody, signaling a new text message. Eagerly, Ai grabbed the phone and flipped it open; it was from Kyou. She smiled and read the reply. Finished reading, Ai smacked her hand lightly against her forehead in a 'duh' gesture.

'You're favorite material anythings' Ai replied back, feeling silly for not being more specific the first time.

Kyou thought for a moment upon receiving the reply. "I think...My DS, and my phone." She paused, trying to think of any of her other favorite belongings. "That's about it. I'm not too materialistic. What about you?" She sent the message, feeling less bored and more elated.

Moving the laptop to rest on the floor, she moved over to her 'bed', which was really a pile of blankets and pillows. Sure, it was different, but she liked it like that. Sprawling out on top of the covers, she could hear faint giggles from downstairs
