"Some of these horror movies are really stupid, huh? The acting in here is so terrible..." Toshiya complained as the movie came close to the end. "I wish I could act in a horror movie, that'd be so cool." "Really? What kinda role?" "What else? The evil murderer that maims all the stupid people straight from the start! Especially those dumbasses who run in their heels and trip in the woods. Because they have that coming." "See, that's what I don't get. If I was a chick and I was wearing shoes with a big pointy heel on the bottom, wouldn't I just be able to throw the shoes like a weapon? You could use them like a sharpened boomerang!" "Yeah, you'd definately be a victim." "What?! Why would I be a victim?!" Toshiya asked, distraught. "Oh, don't worry, you wouldn't die. You'd probably have sex with the killer so that he or she would let you go." Toshiya gaped at me as I laughed. "Are you saying I'm a ho?!" "I'm saying you could probably sleep your way out of any situation." "You're just saying that because you're the killer, and you want to bang me!" He said as he thwacked me upside the head with a pillow. I grabbed another pillow and smacked him back, landing a hit in the stomach. "Oomph!" He exclaimed. He grabbed a second pillow and started landing a series of hits on my head in no time. "Alright, alright, I give! I'm sorry!" He stopped, put the pillows down with a victorious smile, and exhaled heavily. "Haha, you wimp. Oh hey, the movie's over. Are you tired?" "A little, yeah. Stupid ass synching burned my brain today." "Yeah that's true... Well, I'll just retreat to the fortress then. Good night." "'Night, man." I waited until he was out of sight to unfold the blanket on the armrest of the sofa
At first, I wondered if Toshiya hated the living accomodations he now had in Tokyo given the fact the houses and apartments were even much smaller than they were in Nagano. After all, is was one of Asia's biggest cities, the places in this area are made small because of the vast population of desperate workers and night life addcits. But then I considered the fact that he had lived with me for a month, so on second thought, he most likely was used to it. Toshiya didn't have much furniture loaded into the house, since he only had enough time before work to move in a few things and the movers would've charged to place in all his other things. I wouldn't be suprised if he was sleeping in a traditional cot right now... I pulled the blankets over my body and shifted a bit on the sofa, until I was comfy. Mind you, Toshiya had gotten a new sofa that could seat about four people, so I was okay on the this one. I fell fast asleep almost as soon as I eased my eyes closed... and the dream that followed was so strange. I saw myself. I stood stiff and still for a moment-somewhat comparable to a stone potruding out of the ground-until I decided to sit down, curling myself into a ball as I wrapped my arms around my legs, which were bent so that my forehead rested on my knees. I felt warmth surround me, someone holding me from behind. Suddenly, the lifeless, bland air turned sweet and fragrant and a felt a living heart beat pound gently against my left shoulder blade, where someone's chest was pressed against my back. My eyes darted to the left to get a glance at who was holding me but my eyes only came in contact with dark, ebony-black hair as a whistling wind blew past us weakly yet continuously.
The silence was defeaning, and though I usually don't mind quietness, this prevailing awkwardness that was created by that same taciturnicty was making me very uneasy. "May I see your face?" I asked. I could feel the face that had come to rest in the crook of my neck nod before the embracing arms loosened, then fell completely. ...And we both stood up at the same time, turning carefully only for our faces to have just a couple centimeters of space between them when our eyes finally met... so to speak. This other man was quite a bit taller than me. He also had lips that were beautifully shaped, soft looking skin, and eyes that looked like black glass. His dark hair clung to his face slightly, highlighting his smooth facial structure. I know I knew him in real life, but in the dream, I had no recollection of who this man was. "What's your name?" He asked me. "Niimura Tooru." I answered in a barely audible whisper. "Tooru-san..." he whispered back as the back of his soft hand stroked my cheek. I flinched a little, but it didn't show. "I wouldn't worry... about everything that's happened. You'll be alright." What was he talking about? "What about you? What's you name?" The corners of his mouth pulled upwards into a small, soft smile. "My name... My name is-" "KYO!" I heard my name echoe in the background of the surreal dream, and then I was awoken. "KYOOO!" There it was again... Toshiya? "Mm? What's happening?" I breathed out sleepily as I stood up straight as quickly as my half asleep state would allow me.
"We're late! I forgot to set my alarm last night, Kaoru called and he is pissed! Come on, we have to move! Now! Change your clothes, wash your face, and let's go!" He yelled. He was running around the entire place, frantically trying to gather all his nesecary belongings in a frenzied hurry. I got up slowly, tried to blink the sleepiness away, and slowly pulled my pants up my legs and over my hips. "Kyo, what're you doing?! If we don't leave here now, Kaoru is going to eat our fucking heads off!" "If we're already late, what difference does it make now?" I groaned. "Ugh! You know what, forget it, I was just trying to look out for you, but I am leaving! I'd like to keep my head on my shoulders, thank you very much!" I pulled the shirt over my head and looked around for my shoes as Toshiya tugged on the door. "Where are my shoes?" I asked groggily. "Here!" He opened the closet by the front door and pulled them out. "Okay, forget it, he'll definately kill you if you're any later, and I can totally see you just going to the kitchen and slowly eating breakfast as soon as I leave. C'mon, let's go." He pulled on my arm as I was putting on my other shoe, though both of them were untied. "Wait, my shoes..." "Put them on in the car, let's go!" The entire car ride, I was thinking about my dream. See, the weird thing was, now that I thought about it, I remembered having the dream before... Yeah, I had it all the time when I was a kid, it was the oddest thing... It kind of came back over the surface of my memory, and now I couldn't shake the images away. Except for one: I couldn't remember the face of the other man in my dream. And somehow that really bothered me, because even though I knew it was a really trivial matter, it just got inside my skin because I knew that whoever that person was, I knew them in real life.
I just know I did Kaoru yelled bloody murder at us for a while when we finally reached the studio, making Shinya wince and Die try to stiffle what was undoubtabely laughter. "Whatever." Kaoru finally half groaned, half sighed. "Just set up, we're waiting on you two." I followed his command and walked over to my mic, but all I really needed to do was flip the switch down the side on. My thoughts started drifting back to the dream, and I thought as hard as I possibly could... Okay, if I couldn't remember his face, maybe his voice? No... Then all of the sudden, the image sort of flickered in my mind but the second it was there, it slipped past and disappeared... Damn it! I lost it. "Kyo, can you check your mic real quick?" I heard Toshiya's voice say from behind me, the sound making me turn around to face him on reflex since I was jolted out of my thoughts. Then I noticed his face... That was the face from my dreams! It was Toshiya, he was the one in my dreams all those times! Oh my God! I gaped disbelievingly at him, until he finally asked me what was wrong. I didn't blink, I don't even think I was breathing correctly...
"...It's you!"
