Actually there are just as many looking the other direction, too. Some are here all summer. More are coming to join them as they will be heading south. This is on a small pond in the middle of the next town. I usually go in to walk with my friend about 4 or 5 days a week. We walk around the pond. Surprisingly, the geese do not come on to the shore- so it is not messy. They are just amazing to watch and hear.
I love Canadian geese and I especially love to see them flying. On the MIchigan State campus where we spend our summers there are many resident geese and unfortunately they do dirty the walkways along the river to the extent that nobody can walk there. But beautiful they are!

Just knowing how messy they are makes me not want to walk around the egdes of that pond. LOL
Still, it´s a lovely scene. Is that near your home?
