Book List 2007

Jan 07, 2007 18:08

I said I'd post this a couple entries back, and so I shall.
Tis a small list right now. All except one I haven't read, and one I've already started.
A good percentage of the books were holiday gifts this year.

So, here goes:

1. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
2. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
3. Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman (started "last year", but not quite finished yet)
4. The Sandman Papers: An Exploration of The Sandman Mythology by Joe Sanders
5. Neil Gaiman's The Sandman and Joseph Campbell: In Search of the Modern Myth by Stephen Rauch (thanks Ruby!!)
6. Hanging out with the Dream King: Conversations with Neil Gaiman and his Collaborators by Joseph McCabe (are we noticing a trend??)
7. The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by Barack Obama (Obama for Prez in 2008, I swear to the gods. I honestly think he has a soul which would be nice after the last eight years of asshattery from DC....but I digress)
8. Postsecret by Frank Warren (finished already, but I'm totally reading it again. It's the guy that had people send him anonymous postcards with their secrets...mind-boggling, mind-blowing, sad and disturbing and a must read)
9. Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce
10. The Goddess, The Grail, and The Lodge: Tracing the Origins of Religion by Alan Butler
11. Phantom by Terry Goodkind

Books that have been on my shelf for a while I WILL READ this year:
12. The Mythmaker: Paul and the Invention of Christianity by Hyam Maccoby
13. When God was a Woman by Merlin Stone
14. A History of Pagan Europe by Prudence Jones and Nigel Pennick
15. The Short and Bloody History of Knights, Spies, and Pirates by John Farman
16. The Witches of Eileanan by Kate Forsyth
17/18. Full Moon by Rebecca York (novels Killing Moon and Edge of the Moon in one volume)
19. Life's Little Emergencies: Everyday Rescue for Beauty, Fashion, Relationships, and Life by Emme and Natasha Stoynoff
20. Chocolate for a Woman's Heart by Kay Allenbaugh
21. Vampire Hunter D: Volume 1 by Hideyuki Kikuchi
22. Priestess of the White by Trudi Caravan

The books are in no particular order except I definitely want to read Stardust before the movie opens.

The Peep book from Rissa I've already read. I still can't believe there's a Peep storybook out there. I love it.

Tidbit from VH-1: Aerosmith has been around for over 40 years. Holy rock your world Batman! Forty years!! Janie's Got A Gun was just on as a Top Song
