So the new year begins now.

At least from my perspective. or rather it began last Thursday. Regardless, I seemed to have by accident picked up a theme for it. And that is one of "Removing things from my life that serve to only make me unhappy and miserable". A no brainer eh? See there's a catch: I'm letting people and things go with no malice, and with little fanfare. The ( Read more... )

I'd say 'good for you', but I get the sense there's a bit of decomposition between the lines, like hedonism gone bad, like it hooked up with martyrdom and got some sort of disease ( ... )

I wholeheartedly second this wisdom. It's something quite a few people need to hear.

Decomposition between the lines, as it were, is more a stylistic aspect of anything I write longer than two or 3 sentences. I tend to lose focus after a few moments of typing, especially when I've just woke up.

As for perspective and all, well there are things and people I've let stay in my life for too long out of fear or just lack of motivation to change.

I'm not looking to overhaul my life beyond trimming off the dead-weight that drags me down. And all in all I'm doing this for myself. It an entirely self-centered project just like most the things I do. I'm not interested in "being a better person". I'm interested in living a more contended existence.

I'm not certain why you'd care about this all in the 1st place.

There there. It was just one of my meandering observations, and not one I seriously thought you'd pay any attention to.

"I'm not interested in "being a better person". I'm interested in living a more contended existence."

lol ironic typo.

You might want to try hard drugs. Your life goes to hell, but you feel really good about it most of the time.

"I'm not certain why you'd care about this all in the 1st place."

I promise to stop if it'll make you feel better.

I find that it's served me well. I am a much more content person having let go of a lot of the anger, and having forgiven myself and others for past wrongs.

I hope I'm not one of the removed things that make you unhappy and miserable. I haven't always been the brightest bulb in the pack, but I like you and would be sad if there was no you in the world.

..once or twice a year, I look at the journals of some of the threshholds people, and say, "Oh, guess I didn't get to that again this year"...I agree completely with your view: to me, life/existence goes on forever in some form(s) or other, always changing, and it's like skateboarding or something...you do your best, try to be present and enjoy as much as you can (and eventually some people want to do as much good as they can), and if you keep hitting a certain type of thing that harms you or others, even if it used to be a treasure, maybe it's not the right thing now in its present form, or your present form...and you keep skateboarding, and enjoying, and being as present as you can...
