Childhood Memory- Our Museum

When I was a kid, we had a "museum" of natural things, which we kept, at least mostly, inside a wooden (pine?) box that had been a wine crate. My dad brought the box home when he was working somewhere that had a liquor store, I think ( Read more... )

Um... Just so you know, we still have our museum box. It's living out in the garage, but Mom brought it inside for me earlier this summer so I could show Tally. I think it's sad that most kids don't have such a connection with natural treasures like rocks, feathers, shells, plants, etc... I'm glad we both know to value such things. ^_^

Really? I thought it was gone. The last time I remember seeing it was at the old house... the duplex. Has it been in the garage the whole time since we moved?

I know one thing that isn't in there anymore... I have the (partial) rib bone here. I've been carting it around with me every time I move. ^_^

I've also got a small "box of bones" not mentioned above. A few skulls, some other bones, including a tiny pelvis, about the size of a dollar coin. (Found that one on the way down the steep path to the Snake River where we had our sand patch to play in)

Yeah, it's lived in the garage since we moved. Mom knew that not everything was still in there, and I figured you kyped at least some of the bones...
