Gothic & Lolita Bible US Edition

My first thought upon picking up the US version of the Gothic and Lolita Bible was, “This is $19.99?”  The magazine has an ISBN number, taking it out of the magazine market, and with such a hefty price tag why didn’t Tokyopop spend a little more on the quality?  The cover is just heavier weight paper with some gloss and the matte paper inside gives ( Read more... )

Wow, that sounds ... spectacularly crappy. I buy GLBs even though I can't read them very easily ... because they're colorful and full of fun photos. Woohoo.

But. That sounds lame.

And you just know that a bajillion unique little snowflake 15-year-olds ALL bought a copy.

Oshidori had a beautiful photo in it and there was an interview with a U.S. designer, but these things weren't really highlighted. It seems very slapped together and the individual parts weren't cohesive. It looks like Shojobeat, but with more dresses inside. I wonder when the next issue is coming out and how they're going to pull themselves out of this pit of teeny bopper magazine despair and sparkles.
