So vicky_licious was looking for An Cafe's new single and came across what might just be my new favourite band, THE PINK☆PANDA. They are a little-known four-girl JPunk band made of win and spazzy love. I've never made an actual primer before, but I figured I had to share the love and this was the best way I could think of

I don't know if you know already, but they have an online magazine here! I get most of my photos from that and they update it pretty often. Every couple of weeks or so there are new photos.

Also, Rina's hair is currently blue! NANA-A's is brown. :D

There's also a small bio on them at Last.fm. It's really small, but.. it's there. xD

I heard something about a second mini-album being on sale soon... any word on that or was it just a rumor?

I haven't read anything about a mini album coming out, but I could be wrong. I know they were recently on a compilation album called "Rude Girl's Party". I don't really know anything about it, though. ; 3;

Ahh, that might have been what they were talking about. It was a random French site, so the translation I got was likely off. The magazine is so much love, btw! Especially the little dorky videos and pictures. <333

Have you listened to the Panda's music? It's really amusing as are their videos. <3

Actually, I think An Cafe is better again in live than on CD ! They radiate such a happiness power x"3

I just listened Wake up but it was a very strange belief because it remembered me firsts An Cafe's songs I listened when I was just 14 x"3

Couple corrections - Mayu and Chopper are the only two that were idols before. The initial 4 members all were, but the keyboardist left quickly for school after a couple months, then their drummer left and was replaced by Nana-e. Drummer ended up as a baker, she's mentioned occasionally in Chopper's blog if you flip through the older entries. Might have the drummer and keyboardist confused, could be the other way around... Anyway, then Chopper recruited Rina. Rina was in a different band with Chopper as well but I can't remember now if that was before she joined Pink Panda or after. They used to have a nice timeline of it all on their site but when they redesigned it in 2006 they took that off and just have the info from when they settled on their current lineup in 2004. After Rina and Nana-e joined they did sell CD-R photobooks for Rina, Nana-e, and Mayu that were shot by their producer Shown who's regularily an idol photographer. http://community.livejournal.com/ ( ... )

Ahhh, thanks! There isn't all that much on the band in English other than the lj comm and I realised just now that I had forgotten to go all the way back in the archives of it! Oops! <33 Thanks so much for all the translations of their blog entries, btw!

That explains why nothing idol-y comes up when you do a search for the other two, then, lolol. I had wondered a bit. *facepalms* Those pictures are awesome, though! So, so cute!

Awwww, that interview was sort of pathetically adorable. *hearts the Rina* And yeah, that is the same vibe I get from it. For some reason the sub wouldn't work, but was readable as a text file.

Oh, random question, do you happen to know if they still have their fan club? I know that's what the lj comm name is based on, but I wasn't sure if it was still around. <333

All three of us here are just in love with the band, they are all such darlings and their music is so endlessly awesome!

I love the random clothing Koga is modeling for hypercore, and that picture is adorable! Do you happen to know more about their movies and Koga's drama? All I've been able to find info on beyond their PinPan stuff has been their idol books/dvds.

Too bad about their fanclub! It seems they're cracking down on fan interaction more and channeling it just through the mail client on their site. :(

Hmm, I'd love to take that off your hands, I'll have to talk to my room-mate and gf and see if they want to split the cost (I'm looking for a job right now so I can afford to go to Japan this winter or else I'd just buy it, lol). I'm assuming you'd want the retail + shipping, so around $40+?
