Chapter one - “Not possible”
Jin and Kazuya have known each other for years. They've never been in a movie together, never acted together, but they have mutual friends. And by mutual friends, they mean that Jin met Kazuya while dating one of his co-stars. Jin knew Meisa for a long time, but they didn't start dating until Meisa was filming Byakkotai. Koki, who got along with Meisa, introduced Jin and Meisa at a random party, and the two of them quickly hit it off.
Meisa and Jin started dating. For a year their relationship was nice and everyone around Japan knew about it. They were at the ending party of Meisa’s latest drama, 1 pound no fukuin. There Meisa introduced Jin to Kazuya.
“Kazuya-kun!” Meisa called out for her co-worker. As she saw Kazuya turning around and looking at him, she grabbed Jin’s arm, pulling him along her to speak with Kazuya. “Hey, why are you alone?”
Chuckling Kazuya took another drink. “These sorts of places just freak me out, it looks like we’re in a castle that hasn’t been used in hundred years.” he said honestly. Smiling at Meisa, Kazuya looked the man, standing next to him. He was quite handsome, one hundred percent gay. Kazuya was sure of it. It just seemed that Jin wasn’t aware of that himself. “Hello, I’m Kamenashi Kazuya.”
“Ah, I’m so silly,” Meisa licked her lips, turning on the man. “This is Akanishi Jin, my fiancée.” she smiled to Jin who smiled back at him, greeting Kazuya with a small nod. “Keep some company to each other, I’ll be right back.” she said before running to the producer of the show, since she had a question for him.
“How long have you been dating?” Kazuya asked, looking at Jin after Meisa left. He offered Jin a drink, basically eating him up with his eyes. He was using his eye-rape face on Jin.
Clearing his throat, Jin accepted the drink. “For a year last week.” he felt somehow uncomfortable around the actor. Jin started to look for Meisa, but as he didn’t see her, he had to continue his chat with Kazuya. Drinking, laughing together Jin and Kazuya got to know each others and ended up in the same bed. Jin never told Meisa he cheated on her with a man. When he broke up with her, he simply said he couldn’t deal with any relationship now and that he still loved Meisa, he just didn’t have the time for both, her and his career. After that Jin started something that he had never really had before. He started a sex relationship with a man.

And now, years later, Kazuya was standing in front of his manager, jaw wide open. Jin would act Genzaburou? Jin would be the other head actor of the show? Hell to the no. Kazuya wanted to vomit. Akanishi Jin, from all the people, Akanishi Jin was acting in a same drama with him. “Think positively.” he sighed. Kazuya knew that Naka Riisa was the one who acted his girlfriend and he was quite happy about that since he felt comfortable around Riisa, since the two of them already co-worked on the drama Kami no Shizuku.
“I must be dreaming,” Jin had his eyes locked on the man in front of him. He hit gently his manager’s chest. “Tell me I’m dreaming.” There was no way he was going to be around Kamenashi Kazuya for the next six months, just no way. “I want to wake up. Nightmares like this aren’t nice.” he looked quite horrified.
Fuck it. There was no way this was going to work. There was just no way. Not only they had to act together, they probably had to do all kind of interviews and photo shoots together. “Absolutely no way.” Kazuya turned to see his manager, who told them that there’s nothing they could do. The contracts were already signed.
They were sitting around the table were all the actors were. “Let’s start then.” the director stood up before introducing himself. “You all have the script, right?” he looked the people around the table. “Yeah, hope you all enjoy working here.” he smiled warmly. He wanted the drama to be a success. “So let’s get this part started.”
Kazuya opened the script and noticed that the first lines were his. He stood up grabbing the script with him. “I’m Kamenashi Kazuya. I hope we can all have..” he looked at Jin who seemed to be staring at him. “fun.” Kazuya felt so uncomfortable. He opened the script and gulped, stealing a quick glance on Jin. His eyes wandered back to the script, back to first few lines.
“Toilet.” Jin stood up and left the room before Kazuya started. Kazuya looked at Jin leaving. Didn’t he just go to toilet? Kazuya couldn’t accept this. If they wouldn’t let him out of the contract he would suck so bad they would fire him, but there was no way he was going to look through his fingers Jin’s behaviour. It was unacceptable. He simply couldn’t act like that.
Kazuya frowned, putting the script on the table. “Please excuse me.” he followed the older one. “What the hell is wrong with you?!” Kazuya pushed Jin to the toilet’s door, glaring at him.
“H-huh?!” Jin turned around due the surprise. “Didn’t take you as the violent type.” he laughed and turned back to the bathroom.
Kazuya used force to turn Jin around grabbing his collar. “I happen to know that you came out of that very same toilet 2 minutes ago.” he glared at Jin. “I know how this goes; you hate me, thinking I’m disgusting and I’m not actually a fan of you either, but we have to work with each other for months! If we can’t get along on the first day, how are we going to survive these months?!”
“Who said I want to get along?” Jin said then looking the smaller one so close to him. “You stalk me or something?” Jin grabbed Kazuya’s hand and pulled it away from his collar. Noticing the death glares he got from Kazuya, Jin sighed. “Hate to admit it, but you got a point.” he looked away.
“Akanishi-kun? Kamenashi-kun?” Jin and Kazuya turned around seeing the director calling out for them. “Everything okay?” Jin faked a laugh and walked past Kazuya, patting him on the shoulder.
“Yeah, we were just on our way back.” he turned to see Kazuya. “Right?” he sounded friendly but as Kazuya was the only one to see his face, he wasn’t wearing that friendly expression at all, more like bored to death glare.
“Right.” Kazuya said following the older one back to the room. He walked to the place he was sitting before and took the script on his hands. “Sorry about that.” he apologised and started from the first scene. Every once in awhile he stole quick glances at Jin, who had his eyes locked on the ceiling, foots on the table. It seemed that the gum he was chewing was far too interesting than the moment they had just there.
Jin would never admit it if anyone asked, but the reason he was looking the ceiling, counting the stripes on it, was that it was too hard to look at Kazuya. He looked gorgeous as ever and seeing his face, hearing his voice, sensing his presence brought back so many memories, good and bad ones and it made Jin’s mind go to a whole new trip.
Looking at Kazuya, Jin got an idea. Maybe he should play with Kazuya just a little. Maybe that way it’ll be easier to be around him with out thinking about their time together.
“Good work today.” Kazuya said before he left. He left quite early. Due the fact that his manager brought him, he had to go back by train. Sighing he stepped out the building and started to walk to the station. Under his breath he cursed that he forgot his ipod home and the battery of his phone had died so he couldn’t even listen any music.
“Hey.” Kazuya heard a familiar voice, perhaps a bit too familiar. He turned around and saw exactly who he thought it was. “Need a ride?”
“No, thank you.” Kazuya turned back to the route and kept walking. Why would he even suggest anything like that After all he had done to Kazuya? As he didn’t seem to stop, Kazuya turned around and frowned at him. “Jin, what the fuck?”
His lips parted. “What did you just call me?” Jin stopped the car and looked at Kazuya, wearing expression of pure shock. As he noticed Kazuya blushing and turning around, Jin smirked. “You called me Jin just now, didn’t you?”
“No.” Kazuya denied and started walking again, but Jin just wouldn’t stop, he drove next to Kazuya and it started to look humiliating. “Weren’t you the one who wanted to have nothing to do with me? Don’t you think paparazzi would enjoy seeing you following me, almost stalking?”
“I don’t care, we’re on the same drama now, I can always say we’re friends from way back.” he smirked. “I did some thinking you see.” Jin informed proudly.
“Oh, I see.” Kazuya said sarcastically. “Now please excuse me.” as Jin didn’t seem to stop, Kazuya sighed. He was finally over this shit. Why was Jin doing this to him? “What do you want?”
“To give you a ride.” Jin smirked. “You know I won’t stop until you’re at the station and that means this will be the longest 15 minutes in your entire life.” he laughed. He so knew how to handle Kazuya. “Oh, and just for you to know,” Jin smiled. “I’ve never thought you were disgusting.”
Kazuya turned around to look at Jin again. Did Jin mean that? “Why?” Kazuya looked at Jin then. When Jin was about to answer, Kazuya broke him off. “Why are you doing this to me?” he noticed it started to get hard to breath and his eyes watered up. No, no, no. He tried to calm himself down. He was not going to fall to the shame and cry in front of Jin, no way.
“Eh?” Even with Kazuya’s desperate effort to try to hide his tears, Jin saw that Kazuya had hurt his feelings. Deeply. “Uh..” he didn’t know what to say. If the situation would be different, Jin would go to him, hug him and ask what was wrong, but now.. It seemed that Jin was the thing that was wrong with Kazuya. “I- I think I should go.” Jin said then.
Kazuya nodded. “See you tomorrow.” he wanted to say something like leave me alone or something as childish, but he knew he was going to regret it. Kazuya turned to a short cut while Jin continued his route straight.
Jin turned on some music, trying to concentrate on anything but Kazuya. He just couldn’t get the sight of Kazuya’s teared up face out of his head. Was it just bad day for Kazuya? Or was it something else? Didn’t they agree to even act comfortable around each others? It couldn’t be because Jin teased him just a little, right?
Sighing Jin parked on his yard, getting up from the car. He walked home, threw his bag on the corner and light a cigarette. He looked the poster of a naked woman’s back on his wall and the guitar lying next to it. “Tch,” he grabbed his phone and started typing.

I was just wondering if you were okay? Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings or anything..
“And send.” Jin put the phone back on the table. Argh, maybe it was a mistake to send a text to Kazuya. For a long time they didn’t keep any contact and now out of no where Jin was following Kazuya and texting to him? Kazuya must be thinking that Jin had gone nuts.
When the phone was vibrating on his table, Jin’s heart jumped. Kazuya answered him back? That means Kazuya had at least still the same number. Jin opened his phone and looked to his mailbox. His jaw dropped as he read the message. “Stupid brat!”
