All right, I've been thinking about a comment I got, and it sounds like I didn't make a few things clear. XD But this good! This will help clarify what I'm trying to do. X3

Before I get to the fun stuff, I must say that I'm impressed. Not only because my comment caused an entirely new post, but because of the detail involved. Well done ^_

Thank you, once again! XD It's not as detailed as I'd like it to be yet, but that's my goal for this year. I've been looking through old notes, and I realize I had the basic concept for the setting just after I finished high school, so I've had this in my head for many years. It's only recently that this idea has been so INSISTENT with me that I feel like I have to do something about it

Yo. Thought I'd say hi, and wondered if you'd like to talk via IM. :) I've been with L5R since the RPG first came out (my name's in a few of the later books, in fact), and I'm also wandering around in the anthro community (re: Foxtrot's Guide to Kitsune Lore). :)
Also, we're looking for people to make games using the SPS engine I used for Fox Magic. The system's designed to accommodate nearly any sort of world building. Interested?
No way! You've been with L5R? Wicked awesome! XD And yeah, I know of Foxtrot's ideas too, mine are slightly different though (I'm basing this around 5 elements instead of thirteen for the most part)
Actually, yes I am interested! If you can't tell already, I've been shopping around for a system for this idea for a while. I've been looking closely at Fate so far, but that's truly only because of two things. One, it has an Open Gaming License, and two, it's not d20. XD I would like to take more of a look at it. X3
Here's the basic idea though. I'm still in the process of trying to figure it out, but what I'm trying to do is a magic(and possibly character creation system) themed around the five Chinese elements. X3
I'm rarely on IM though, it's kinda hard to catch me. Hmmmmm... maybe I'll organize a time to get on somehow XD
The thirteen elements. Yeah, that was a long time ago. If I ever do a remake of my guide, that might not be there anymore. I've found very little to support the idea, and I'm thinking the person who told it to me was outright lying.
The Fate system is interesting, but there are aspects of it that annoy me -- maybe if I were more familiar with it, I'd be more willing to do things with it, but as it is, I've made my engine, I'm going to use it. ;)
The game I'll be working on soon, called Paths of Xia, is inspired by the five Chinese elements. The attributes use the five elements, the character creation system uses the Chinese horoscope, and even skills and magic uses the five elements. If you're interested in teaming up with me on that specifically, it could be awesome, otherwise, I'd be fine seeing you run with my system and doing your own thing. :)
