Hi there. I saw your old post on the compling community and noticed that you were thinking of going for an MA in CompLing at SDSU. I'm just finishing up there (all I have is my thesis). Let me know if you have any questions. I actually started a resources page on the Linguistics Student Association at SDSU website (lsa.sdsu.edu) that has a special subcategory for the beginning computational linguist. There's a link to MIT's Intro to Programming (taught with Python) on there and a really awesome Python text. Check it out! Trying to make it easier for people who come after me since, although it's not required to know how to program in SDSU's CL MA program, you're not really taught how to extensively either.
