[voice] oo7. the war ashes return to earth, letting flowers bloom again and again

The university system that we know of here doesn't exist in my world. [A pause here.] But there are some similarities. There was a single institution in the city of Aspio that could have qualified as 'higher education', if even, but it was mainly dedicated to the study of blastia and related topics. Smaller educational institutions were scattered ( Read more... )

rita is curious, !voice, there is no right answer, she might fireball you for this, is totally not trying to make a decision, university why, she wants opinions; surprisingly enough, she wants answers, she wants them now, she wants to know, questions

He still has a room in the Tavern, it's remained unoccupied since he left.

So he won't be crawling around a dump somewhere out on the streets. I might just be a little disappointed.

[Ahh that brings back memories of the lower quarter.]

I don't think Karol would be able to cope in the city just yet. It's overwhelming enough to be in a new world as it is, but to see skyscrapers and cars? Hmm... We'll keep him at the Tavern until he settles in. Where he chooses to go from there on, is his own choice.

Personally, I think you're underestimating the brat. The thing about brats is that they can adapt to anything, and they adapt quickly. ... not that I have particular confidence in him, or anything, but once he gets out there, he won't be coming back crying for home.

My only experiences with Karol, have all been regarding his cowardice behaviour.

Are you speaking from your own experience?

I'm not about to defend him. If you think he's a coward, then he has to prove for himself that he's not one. Everything else is just my speculation.

[He laughs.] You could've fooled me.

Your field of expertise is blastia, not child psychology. Considering the lack of blastia here however, I wouldn't be surprised if you started to dabble into other scientific studies as well.

I'm not here to fool anyone.

And I'm of the opinion that a researcher should be well-rounded. You never know what kind of connections you can make from one subject matter to another, especially since everything in this world is connected by certain fields of mathematics. Understanding the world is just another step towards understanding blastia.

You have a long way to go if you can't even realize that much.

Ah, but unlike you it's not my duty to realise these things. All I need to understand are the law, how to protect the people effeciently and how to fend for myself. Anything else is simply beneficial.

Which reminds me, I take it you're studying what may have caused the castle to crash correct? It seems like something that would pique your interest.

I'm not here to lecture you. What you believe in is your business, as long as you stay out of my business, we have an accord.

And yeah, I'm studying it. I've set up a twenty-four hour monitoring system and ran all sorts of tests. So far, beyond the usual people skirting in and out to take a look at the thing and your people, there hasn't been any movement on that front. And as for the actual knocking of the castle out of the sky, I've been surveying the star charts.

From the fact the castle had remained dark until the night it finally fell, there are suspicions that this event was planned in advance. You went to the ruins didn't you, before it sank into the hole?

I did. Not that I found anything worth noting before whatever it was transported me back.

Did you see anyone else while you were in there? Did they have any information?

If I had information, I would have a lead. By the very obvious fact that I don't have a lead, I think it's common sense to realize that I don't have any information.

I meant, did you ask anyone else for information while you were in there?

[... Atoli was there, but Atoli had obviously not want it to become publicized. On the other hand, Flynn was a knight. It was obvious which side she would choose.]

I didn't. Generally, we were too busy trying to stay alive to do any amount of talking, and by the time things started settling down, we were transported out of there.

Not that they had any information to begin with. If I couldn't find anything, I doubt anyone else could've.
