So, Lexi is an English teacher. As such, when other teachers assign them book reports, she has to help the kids through it in her class. I was an English major and never heard of that book until I worked in a bookstore (though I've been hearing quite a lot about it lately oddly enough). But knowing what I know now of it, I wouldn't even attempt reading it let alone assign it to high school freshmen.

On another note, I think I may have just discovered a new advantage to having my own car: the ability to run douchebags over without worrying about my parents flipping out over a dent in one of their cars.

so i talked to the kids history teacher and he said that his hope is that "they'll get the first part at least"... my response was if they aren't able to fully comprehend a piece of literature, why put them through the process of trying to read it... grr... this is just plain obnoxious and i'm losing a week of my time to help his ass... grr, grr, grr... :(
