“You gay faggot, how dare you seduce him!”

“He doesn’t want you anymore.”

“Didn’t you see him with that girl on his arm? He has completely forgotten about you.”

“You were just a fling. A joke. A big joke.”

Jaejoong woke up with a jolt.

Panting heavily, he stopped the incessant ringing of the alarm clock with his hand. Beads of cold sweat rolled down his face as he tried to grasp what was going on.

I had that dream again…

Jaejoong headed to the bathroom to splash water onto his face. He looked up and saw his reflection in the mirror.

I look terrible.

He was about to splash more water onto his face when he heard his phone ringing from the bedroom. Jaejoong picked up his phone from his nightstand to check who was calling. It was Changmin, so Jaejoong ignored the call and turned off the sound, but soon voicemail kicked in “Hyung! Stop ignoring my calls again. Oh right, I found another date for you. He’s totally different from those weird blind dates Junsu set you up on. This one is totally your type! Give him a try hyung! Pick up my calls!”

Jaejoong ignored the voice mail and head back to bed - he couldn’t be bothered with any more blind dates.

~~~
Jaejoong was going about his daily routine which basically revolved around working, eating, sleeping, having nightmares, and lastly, showering. He always had the same nightmares. It scared him how that one event would scar him so much.
Jaejoong fiddled with the papers on his desk and stared at his nameplate.
Kim Jaejoong - Director.
He’d never known that he was going to become part of a fashion company, much less its director. His late older sister had passed on the company to Jaejoong thinking that Jaejoong’s art skills would be of great use to the company. Jaejoong, not wanting to let his sister down, took over the company.
Jaejae, I believe in you. I know you would do this company great justice.
It wasn’t that Jaejoong didn’t like his job - in fact he really enjoyed it. He had been a top arts student during high school and he had majored in visual art in university, so coming up with different designs every once in a while wasn’t too hard. It was just really a lot of pressure for Jaejoong when his dying favorite older sister kept telling him about how she wanted the company to spread to New York, Tokyo, France. It was just all too much for him to handle.
Beep.
A voice came out of the phone intercom. “Boss, Junsu is here to see you. I’m letting him now.” Jaejoong gave out a loud sigh.
“Hyung!”
For Pete’s sake.
“What is it this time Junsu?” Junsu opened his mouth, but Jaejoong interrupted before the former could say anything. “And no, I’m not going on anymore blind dates.” Junsu closed his mouth.
Junsu was Jaejoong’s first friend when he had started working at his sister’s company. Junsu had helped Jaejoong ignore terrible comments about him using his sister to become the director and how he had planned his sister’s death so that he could get the position. It had been too much for Jaejoong, and he was just about to quit until he met Junsu who changed his mind about everything completely.
His secretary’s voice came through the intercom again. “Sir, Mr. Park is com-“
“Hello soulmate!” Yoochun said as he burst through the door. Jaejoong could feel a headache coming on. “I heard that Changmin called you to inform about the blind date.” Yoochun flopped down on a chair. “He’s pretty hot you know.” Yoochun wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
“Hey!”
“Not as hot as you of course Su-baby.” Yoochun grinned as Junsu sat on his lap. Jaejoong groaned at their cheesiness.
Yoochun was Junsu’s boyfriend. As soon as Junsu had introduced them, they had immediately clicked. Yoochun found out that Jaejoong shared the same taste in music, had the same shoe size, were the same height and liked the same food. Ever since then Yoochun had stuck to calling Jaejoong his soulmate. Surprisingly Junsu hadn’t minded.
“If you guys want to suck each other’s faces off, please do so outside of my office. This is a very professional area and I don’t like the idea”
Yoochun snorted. “Come on Jae, we’re your very bestest friends. You can’t kick us out.”
“Watch me.”
“Okay! Okay, fine.” Junsu got off Yoochun’s lap and sat down on the chair next to him.
“So… Why are you guys here again?” Jaejoong inquired.
“We’re here to bring you to your blind date.” Yoochun grinned.
~~~
Despite how often Jaejoong thought his friends were annoying, he loved them and that’s how Jaejoong found himself in a restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon sitting opposite of Changmin.

Jaejoong was sipping his juice lazily while Changmin blabbered on about what to do. “So hyung, be warm and nice okay? Don’t act all cold and everything. Laugh at his jokes even when they aren’t funny. Just make a good impression okay?”

Jaejoong gave a grunt in response. He hated blind dates.

“Hyung at least try okay? Get over that bastard from high school, I have no idea who he is but he isn’t worth your time. I mean who dumps their own-“

“Changmin shut up. Do not mention him ever again. Who said I was still hung up over him?” Changmin gave a little shrug.

“Oh look, here he comes now. He’s in that black sweater. I’ll go away now, enjoy your date!” Changmin said hurriedly before he quickly scurried off as Jaejoong’s blind date approached.

Jaejoong looked up at the man approaching him with the black sweater.

Oh hell no.

“Jaejoong is that you?” Jaejoong started panicking in his seat, his a look of complete surprise on his face.

“It is you, oh my gosh I haven’t seen you in ages!”

This can’t be real, he’s supposed to be in Gwangju!

“Wait, you’re my blind date?”

Jaejoong looked right at the very face of Jung Yunho, the man who had broken his heart exactly seven years ago.

“Hey, why aren’t you saying anything? Not happy to see me?”

No I’m not happy.

When Yunho extended his hand to Jaejoong, Jaejoong slapped his hand and ran out of the restaurant. Behind him Jaejoong could hear Yunho’s shouts. “Jaejoong? Jaejoong! Where are you going?”

Jaejoong ran and ran until he finally broke down in the middle of a quiet street.

A/N: Phew, new fic. I dont really know where this idea came from.. o_o I'm terrible at coming up with titles so I used The Ready Set's Love Like Woe, the lyrics fit the plot of the fic so I decided to use it :)

I'm not sure if beta will see this but thank you ^^
