Title: Silent Tears
Pairings: Kyuwook
Chapter : Oneshot!
Rating: G
Genre: Angst, Drama, Frenemies
Summary: "He's Kim Ryeowook, he's an anti-social," that's what everyone thinks. In truth, he's Kim Ryeowook, the kid who is in desperate need of a friend.

Hope. Hoping usually leads to heartbreaks, everyone told him that, but he didn’t believe them. This strong faith of his that there is still hope in this world will eventually lead him to turn down his possible happy ending.

He remembers telling his best friend about how he can’t wait to grow up and become a famous missionary. “I’ll change the world,” he’d usually say. Too bad things don’t always go your way.

His family was nothing but imperfect, at least to him they’re nothing more than that. He wanted to escape, escape from the reality that his family will no longer be his family . So he chose to move to a school United States, being far away from his family was the only way of forgetting that he actually has one.

He thought it was a wise decision, but coming to this new place made things worse that it was. He was lonely, and Ryeowook didn’t like being lonely. He spent the next few months acting as though he was happy, silently crying at night. Yet in his silent tears, he was hoping someone would still listen and comfort him.

Cho Kyuhyun was a complicated young man, quite eccentric too. His voice was probably his best asset, and he knew very well how to use it. His lifelong dream was to be a prince charming and to save a damsel in distress. “One song at a time,” he’d say. And upon arriving at his new school, he knew exactly that Kim Ryeowook, the lonely pianist was his damsel. Or in this case his don in distress.

It started with a simple “Hello,”, then they started making music together. Kyuhyun became a famous singer at school, and Ryeowook finally had someone he could call friend.

But life is cruel, and people forget. Ryeowook was no exception to this rule. Kyuhyun gave him his part of the song and moved on to find another person whose life he could change. Ryeowook begged, but Kyuhyun wouldn’t budge. He would say an occasional “Hello,” but nothing more.

The tears came back, and the other people that came along couldn’t stop it. Ryeowook stopped hoping, cause hope leads to heartbreak. His head hung low now, the piano was just a distant memory. He’d scoffed when people talk about changing the world. He still wants to grow up though, but not so he can work but so that he’d age and die. He was too scared of physical pain to actual commit suicide; it’s actually pretty ironic considering pain has been his best friend.

Kyuhyun came back one day. This time he was kneeling, with a bouquet in hand, tears in his eyes, and love in his heart. “Sorry,” he said. Ryeowook stood there but said nothing.

“I ignored you and moved because I’m starting to fall for you, and I just can’t. We’re both men and my family won’t let it happen. I wanted to save you, but you ended up saving me. I was scared, but leaving you just made things worse. I can’t get you out of my head. I’m not scared anymore. Please accept me back in your life, even if it is just as a friend. I thought it was all or nothing, but I was clearly wrong. Forgive me, please,”

Ryeowook would’ve said yes, but he knows better now. Kyuhyun begged, but Ryeowook wouldn’t budge. He walked away with a new found confidence. He’s worth loving after all. He turned back and looked at Kyuhyun. “Thank you,” he said before he walked away from what could have been his happy ending.

Some people might think he’s being stupid, but he’s just being practical. If it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be. For now he wants to path his own way to happiness, a path that doesn’t involve love.  After all, blood, sweat and tears are the best recipe for success.

Author's Note : The summary is somewhat misleading isn't it. I don't know, I'm sorry. The grammar in this story is terrible too, I'm too lazy to check it. I'm SUPER sorry. I hope you enjoyed reading it though. I wrote the first few paragraphs after a really bad day. So yeah, I'm super sorry if this story doesn't make sense. Just ask if you have any questions regarding the story, I'll happily answer it. Btw, please do criticize my writing, I really want to make it better but my friends are mostly against Super Junior, or Kpop in general so I don't really get constructive criticism from those around me.

PS : I'm thinking of writing a Superman-esque fic involving Kyuwook. I realize it's cliche though, so any ideas to make it not so cliche is really appreciated. Basically here's the summary : "Cho Kyuhyun thinks he's a hero, well he is, but not all heroes get a happy ending. After all, they live to make sure others are happy, not themselves." that's all I can come up with now. Feel free to give ideas on the story and whether you think it'd be better off as a oneshot! or a chaptered fic. I'm currently leaning towards making it a oneshot! .

PSS: Sorry for the long Author's Note and PS :)
