On sports reporters, and their ability to keep their own personal biases in check.

Or well, the lack of it more like.

Oh fuck it.

I tried to make a deep and thoughtful post about journalistic responsibility and when should and shouldn't you try to be objective, but I'm just too pissed off right now to manage it.

Instead I just have this: anyone who thinks that making personal attacks against fans of a team because of actions of the ( Read more... )

Lambert is the Troll To End All Trolls. He's such a dick all the time, but since that's his internet persona it's to be expected. It's no less annoying every time he writes something though.

Honestly, I've gotten to the point that I barely visit PD for anything more than the link roundups for that very journalistic integrity issue. Reading their Coyotes coverage is like beating my head against a brick wall. Between their bias and insistence on only linking/quoting people who, a) are also biased in their same direction, and or b) make things up as it suits them, I've had more than enough. A bunch of people took Wysh to task on twitter over letting so much false content through as the editor of the blog. His response was just to call us crazy.

I try my best at not letting Lambert (and other "reporters" with same style) not to let to me, because it's the sort of cheap intentional provocation which doesn't deserve any reactions what so ever, but sometimes it just can't be helped ( ... )

Yahoo seems pretty nebulous in the way that they handle editors. Combine this with the fact that Puck Daddy is technically a blog, and apparently that means he doesn't have to do anything that resembles journalism. Even in a blog, the editor should you know, if not full on edit then at least approve content. Or expect accuracy or fact checking or something. To then blow people off when they say something is factually inaccurate is amateur at best. :|

Lambert's main-goal in life is to see how many people he can piss off at once. Really shouldn't have let it get to me, but sometimes it just can't be helped.

That said, the worst thing about Monday's article was that the tone of it was hostile beyond believe, and the hostility of it was directed in the completely wrong direction.

Has the "fan" in question ever seen/read any articles about Wild, expect maybe the ones about Parise/Suter signings. All you ever hear is how much Mikko is, not only liked, but even more importantly, respected in the locker room. Or even have some sort of grasp on how sport team dynamics work?
You happen to remember what Russo's answer was?
