This was really wonderful. While I've not jumped on the Lee/Kara ship train, I'm still in sibling mode with them for the most part, I do see this as well. I so can see her scared to death of opening herself up to him, but even more scared of him walking out of her life forever. Because in so many ways the Adama men, and Lee especially, physically & emotionally moor her. Him walking away from her forever would be like her becoming a ship lost at sea. I have a feeling her self destrutive gene would be more in command of her than she ever thought possible.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I was hesitant to include the shippy kissing at the end because I'm still not sure that they're at a place where they can take it to the next level. But at the same time so much had happened in "Home" and there needs to be some fallout from his declaration. I'm nowhere near the "Oh, just frak, already!" stage but so much of their ship is said in their body language and particularly in the way that they invade each other's space that I felt that Starbuck needed to reach out to him physically, not just verbally. I considered a forehead touch but it felt too John and Aeryn to use it for Lee and Kara. Plus given their reunion a tender kiss seemed the best way for her to say with actions that she meant what she was saying in words ( ... )

I cannot wait to see something like that happen at the show... I really want to see Kara and Lee confrontation, about the guy that is not to be named, about Zak, about their feelings for each other... Gah indeed.

You did wonderfully giving them voice to explore all these things here, as usual. Amazing job!

Also? U2's One may be my most favorite song ever EVAH! So, yeah, nice title too! ;)

Thank you. Most of my fics are the result of things I want to see happen on the show so it's nice to know that I'm not the only one clamoring for some serious talking with these two. They've got enough issues to stock a newstand and at some point they won't be able to avoid them.

And isn't "One" purdy? It's actually my first shippy song, ever. It was played at the wedding of Scott Summers and Jean Grey in X-Men #30 and ever since then whenever I ship a couple I think of that song. However Lee and Kara - and the massive amount of pain and angst involved in their ship - feel like the best fit for such an angsty love song.
