Is family a clique?

I know my brother and he knows me far more than anyone on this planet (I even know him more than his girlfriend.) He is without question my best friend. He values me and lets me know that he values me, and I do the same for him. Everyone else keeps me for a while and then tosses me away when they find something more their pace... I don't understand why and I'm sick of it. I hate trying so hard to make friends and caring so much, only to be dumped and left feeling worthless and seriously unwanted and unloved. My brother is the only one I know who I can trust to love me for who I am... so my question is, is family a clique of sorts?

actually... we're extremely close, but I don't really know that it is because we're family. I don't we'll hang out and we'll have a sort of clique and that's very comforting, but I don't know if it's an actual clique.. maybe it is.. it feels like it is. Hmmm...
